Wholesale bentonite cat litter manufacturers

When evaluating bentonite cat litter, prioritize sodium-based bentonite for its superior natural clumping ability. Key metrics include clumping strength (should form a hard, non-stick clump within 3-5 seconds), absorption rate (ideally >300%), and particle size distribution (typically 0.5-4mm). Ensure the product undergoes a triple-dust-removal process to maintain a dust-free rate of 99.9%, which is critical for feline respiratory health and consumer satisfaction.

High-quality bentonite litter often incorporates functional additives. Look for suppliers offering activated carbon, silica gel beads, or STA deodorizing particles. Request lab reports verifying the ammonia absorption rate. For antibacterial claims, ensure the supplier complies with ISO 22196 or provides testing showing inhibition of E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus, which are common in multi-cat households.

For the US market, ensure compliance with CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) guidelines regarding labeling. For the EU, products must align with REACH regulations concerning chemical substances. It is highly recommended to source from manufacturers with ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) certifications to ensure consistent production standards and ethical labor practices.

Bentonite is heavy and sensitive to moisture. Specify heavy-duty PE/PP bags or woven bags with inner liners to prevent breakage and dampness during transit. For retail-ready private labels, ensure UV-resistant printing to prevent fading. Common wholesale sizes include 5kg, 10kg, and 20kg, but you should confirm if the supplier offers vacuum packaging to optimize container space and reduce shipping costs.

Bentonite is highly hygroscopic. To prevent clumping inside the packaging due to humidity, require the supplier to use desiccants (silica gel packs) inside the container and ensure the use of pallet wrapping (stretch film). Conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify that the moisture content of the litter is below 8% before the container is sealed.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate based on volume tiers (e.g., 1x20GP vs. 5x40HQ). Request a sample consolidation where the supplier sends different grades (e.g., ultra-clumping vs. economy) to test market fit. On platforms like Made-in-China.com, prioritize Diamond Members or Audited Suppliers as they have undergone third-party verification of their manufacturing capabilities.

Bentonite cat litter is a high-density cargo. A 20ft container (20GP) is usually more cost-effective than a 40ft container because the weight limit (approx. 20-26 tons depending on the shipping line and destination country) is reached long before the volume limit. Always check the inland weight restrictions of the destination country to avoid heavy-weight surcharges during trucking.

Utilize Secured Payment services provided by reputable B2B platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon confirmation of shipment. Avoid direct wire transfers to personal accounts. Always sign a Sales Contract that clearly defines the Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) and specifies the dispute resolution jurisdiction.
