Sand wax manufacturers

When purchasing sand wax, you must prioritize the melting point, which typically ranges from 50°C to 62°C. For high-end retail or event planning, ensure the granule size is uniform (0.5mm - 1.5mm) to provide a smooth, aesthetic appearance. Additionally, verify the oil content (ideally <0.5%) to ensure a clean burn without excessive smoke or soot, and confirm the scent throw capability if you require pre-scented versions.

For the US market, products should comply with ASTM F2417 (Standard Specification for Candle Fire Safety). For the EU, REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) compliance is mandatory to ensure the wax and dyes are non-toxic. If the product is marketed as eco-friendly, look for RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) or Non-GMO Soy certification to validate sustainability claims.

Sand wax is generally made from Paraffin, Soy, or Palm wax. Paraffin-based sand wax is the most cost-effective and offers the best color vibrancy, but Soy-based sand wax is increasingly popular due to its 'natural' branding and cleaner burn, despite a slightly higher price point. For bulk procurement, blended waxes often provide the best balance between structural integrity (preventing clumping in transit) and price competitiveness.

Sand wax is ideal for event decor, DIY candle kits, and luxury home fragrance. For event planners, source bulk 25kg bags to reduce packaging waste. For retail brands, look for suppliers offering OEM/ODM services who can provide customized glass containers, wicks, and branded retail packaging to ensure the product is 'shelf-ready' upon arrival.

The biggest risk is clumping or melting during transit, especially when passing through tropical climates or sitting in hot shipping containers. To mitigate this, request temperature-controlled shipping (Reefer containers) for large volumes or ensure the use of heavy-duty, moisture-proof PE inner bags inside corrugated cartons. Always ask for a Loading Inspection Report to confirm the goods are not stacked too high, which can crush the granules.

Utilize the Secured Trading Service on Made-in-China.com to protect your payments. When negotiating, request a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for each batch. For first-time orders, negotiate a 30% deposit and 70% balance payment upon presentation of the Bill of Lading (B/L) and a successful third-party pre-shipment inspection (e.g., SGS or Intertek).

While wax is generally classified as non-hazardous, some customs authorities may flag it. Ensure your supplier provides a clear HS Code (typically 340490 or 271220). For shipping to the US, be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties that may apply to certain petroleum-based products from specific regions. Always clarify Incoterms; FOB (Free On Board) is recommended for buyers with their own freight forwarders to maintain better control over costs and timelines.
