Quercetin manufacturers

When sourcing Quercetin, the primary focus should be on purity levels, typically required to be ≥95% or ≥98% as determined by HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography). You must also specify the source material, as most commercial Quercetin is derived from Sophora japonica (Japanese Pagoda Tree). Additionally, pay close attention to particle size (mesh count); finer powders (e.g., 80-100 mesh) offer better solubility and bioavailability for supplement formulations.

As a dietary ingredient, Quercetin must meet stringent safety standards. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch. Key certifications include GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), ISO 22000, and HACCP. For specific markets like the US, verify FDA registration of the facility and GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) status. For European markets, compliance with EFSA regulations and Novel Food status (if applicable) is essential.

Reliable suppliers must provide third-party lab reports testing for heavy metals (Lead, Arsenic, Mercury, Cadmium), ensuring they fall below the limits set by USP (United States Pharmacopeia) or EP (European Pharmacopoeia). Furthermore, check for microbiological purity (Total Plate Count, Yeast & Mold, E. coli, and Salmonella) and pesticide residue levels, especially if the product is marketed as organic.

Quercetin is primarily used in the nutraceutical and pharmaceutical industries for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It is commonly processed into capsules, tablets, or functional beverage premixes. In the B2B sector, you may also find Quercetin Dihydrate (most common, stable) and Quercetin Anhydrous (higher concentration, used in specific chemical applications).

The biggest risk is adulteration or sub-standard purity. To mitigate this, always request pre-shipment samples and have them tested by an independent third-party lab like SGS or Eurofins. Another risk is Customs seizure due to improper labeling; ensure all packaging includes the HS Code (typically 293299), botanical source, batch number, and manufacture/expiry dates clearly in English.

Focus on volume-based pricing tiers. For orders exceeding 500kg to 1 ton, you can typically negotiate a 10-15% discount. Ask for tiered pricing based on purity levels (95% vs 98%). Additionally, negotiate payment terms such as 30% deposit and 70% against the Bill of Lading (B/L) to protect your cash flow, and always use Trade Assurance services if available on the platform.

Quercetin is sensitive to light and moisture. It should be shipped in double-layered plastic bags inside fiber drums. Ensure the shipping terms specify cool, dry, and dark conditions. For sea freight, use moisture-proof containers. For urgent, smaller batches, air freight is preferred to minimize environmental exposure, though it increases the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

Conduct a factory audit or hire a local agent to perform a site visit. Verify the supplier's business license and export permits. When sourcing via Made-in-China.com, prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone on-site verification by third-party inspection companies. Avoid using untraceable payment methods; stick to Bank Wire (T/T) or Letters of Credit (L/C) for large-scale transactions.
