Ethoxylated amine manufacturers

Ethoxylated Amines are versatile non-ionic or cationic surfactants depending on the pH. They are primarily used as emulsifiers, antistatic agents, and corrosion inhibitors. In the textile industry, they serve as dyeing assistants and fabric softeners. In agriculture, they are critical adjuvants for herbicides (like Glyphosate) to improve leaf penetration. Additionally, they are widely used in metalworking fluids and as internal antistatic agents for plastics like PE and PP.

Buyers must focus on the Amine Value (mg KOH/g) and the moles of Ethylene Oxide (EO) content, as these determine the product's hydrophilicity and solubility. Other critical parameters include moisture content (typically <0.5%), color (Gardner scale), and pH value. For high-end applications, ensure the primary amine content is minimized to reduce unwanted side reactions.

As a chemical product, it must be accompanied by a comprehensive Safety Data Sheet (SDS/MSDS) compliant with GHS standards. For export to Europe, REACH registration is mandatory. For the US market, compliance with TSCA (Toxic Substances Control Act) is required. If used in agrochemicals, ensure the product meets specific purity standards to avoid phytotoxicity.

The number of EO units (e.g., 2, 5, 10, 15 moles) significantly impacts the Hydrophilic-Lipophilic Balance (HLB). Lower EO moles (e.g., 2-5) are oil-soluble and cheaper to transport due to higher concentration, whereas higher EO moles are water-soluble. Buyers should select the lowest EO mole count that achieves the desired solubility to optimize formulation costs and reduce shipping volume.

Ethoxylated Amines are often classified as Class 8 (Corrosive) or Class 9 (Environmentally Hazardous) substances depending on their concentration. They must be shipped in UN-approved packaging, such as HDPE drums or IBC tanks. Ensure the supplier provides a Dangerous Goods (DG) Certificate and uses carriers experienced in handling IMO-regulated cargo to avoid port seizures.

Utilize Secure Payment services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your funds until delivery. It is highly recommended to commission a third-party inspection (such as SGS or Intertek) to perform Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI), specifically testing for active matter content and water percentage to ensure the batch matches the approved sample.

Negotiations should focus on raw material price indexing, as the cost of Ethoxylated Amines is heavily tied to Ethylene Oxide and Fatty Amine market prices. Request tiered pricing based on volume (e.g., FCL vs. LCL) and inquire about lead time stability, as chemical production cycles can be affected by environmental protection inspections in manufacturing hubs.

The most common pitfall is incorrect HS Code classification, which can lead to customs delays or unexpected anti-dumping duties. Always verify the HS Code (typically Chapter 34 or 38) with your local customs broker. Another risk is shelf-life degradation; ensure the supplier provides products with at least 80% remaining shelf life and uses moisture-proof sealing for the containers.
