Wholesale segment magnet manufacturers

When sourcing segment magnets, primarily Neodymium (NdFeB), Samarium Cobalt (SmCo), or Ferrite, you must specify the Magnetic Grade (e.g., N35, N52, or high-temperature grades like N42SH). For motor applications, Remanence (Br), Coercivity (Hcb/Hcj), and Maximum Energy Product (BHmax) are critical. Ensure the supplier provides a Demagnetization Curve (B-H curve) report to verify performance under specific operating temperatures.

Segment magnets require high precision for assembly in rotors or stators. You should demand a tolerance of ±0.05mm or tighter. Regarding surface treatment, specify Ni-Cu-Ni (Nickel), Zinc, or Epoxy coating based on the environment. For high-humidity or corrosive settings, Salt Spray Testing (SST) results (e.g., 48h, 72h, or 96h) should be requested to prevent oxidation and premature failure.

To ensure global market access, products must be RoHS and REACH compliant to certify they are free from hazardous substances. If the magnets are intended for the automotive industry, prioritize suppliers with IATF 16949 certification. Additionally, ensure the packaging complies with IATA PI953 regulations for air transport, which requires magnetic shielding to prevent interference with aircraft navigation.

Thermal stability is vital as magnets lose strength at high temperatures. Verify the Maximum Operating Temperature and the Curie Temperature. For high-performance motors, choose grades with high coercivity (e.g., UH, EH, or AH series) which can withstand temperatures up to 200°C-230°C. Request a Weight Loss Test (HAST) report to ensure long-term reliability in harsh environments.

The main risk is Magnetic Leakage, which can lead to the seizure of cargo by customs or airlines. You must use Magnetic Shielding Packaging (iron sheets and foam) to ensure the external magnetic field strength is less than 0.00525 gauss at 15 feet. Always work with freight forwarders experienced in Class 9 Dangerous Goods if the shielding does not meet standard air-freight requirements.

Prices for NdFeB magnets fluctuate with PrNd (Praseodymium-Neodymium) market prices. It is advisable to negotiate a Price Adjustment Mechanism based on a recognized index or lock in prices for a specific period (e.g., 3 months) with a deposit. For bulk orders, sourcing from Made-in-China.com allows you to compare factory-direct prices and mitigate middleman markups.

To secure your investment, use Secured Payment services provided by reputable B2B platforms like Made-in-China.com. Never transfer full payments to private accounts. Utilize Third-party Inspection Services (such as SGS or Intertek) to conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify the magnetic flux and quantity before the final balance is paid.

Since segment magnets are often custom-engineered for specific motors, ensure the supplier signs a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Verify that the supplier has the licensed right to produce patented NdFeB (e.g., Hitachi patent licenses) to avoid legal complications when importing into markets like the USA or EU.
