Wholesale polka dot dress manufacturers

When sourcing at scale, prioritize fabrics like 100% Cotton for breathability, Viscose/Rayon for a soft drape, or Polyester blends for wrinkle resistance and durability. Ensure the fabric weight (GSM) is appropriate for the season—typically 120-160 GSM for summer dresses. Always verify the colorfastness to washing and light, as polka dot patterns often involve high-contrast colors (e.g., white dots on black) that are prone to bleeding.

Check if the supplier uses Screen Printing for vibrant, long-lasting colors or Digital Printing for complex designs and smaller MOQs. Inspect the alignment and consistency of the dots; high-quality garments should have symmetrical patterns, especially at the seams. Ensure there is no cracking or peeling of the print, and request a pre-production sample to test the print's durability after multiple wash cycles.

For the US market, ensure compliance with CPSIA (especially for children's wear) and FTC labeling requirements (fiber content and care instructions). For the EU, products must meet REACH regulations regarding azo dyes and harmful chemicals. Regarding sizing, provide the supplier with a detailed Tech Pack including a Size Specification Chart (XS-XXL) to avoid 'Asian Sizing' discrepancies, which are often smaller than Western standards.

Look for reinforced stitching (at least 10-12 stitches per inch), neatly finished interior seams (overlocked or French seams), and high-quality hardware like YKK zippers or securely attached buttons. For dresses with linings, ensure the lining fabric is anti-static and properly hemmed to prevent it from peeking out below the main skirt.

Utilize Third-Party Inspection services (such as SGS or Intertek) to conduct a During Production Check (DUPRO) or a Final Random Inspection (FRI) before the balance payment is made. On platforms like Made-in-China.com, look for Audited Suppliers who have had their manufacturing capabilities and facilities verified by independent experts.

Negotiate based on Total Volume rather than single SKUs; for example, offer to buy the same fabric base in different dot sizes to reach a lower Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ). Request a tiered pricing structure where the unit price drops by 5-10% as your order volume increases. Always clarify if the quoted price is FOB (Free On Board), which is standard for bulk sea freight, to avoid hidden logistics costs.

Ensure your supplier provides a Commercial Invoice, Packing List, and Bill of Lading with the correct HS Code (typically Chapter 62 for woven apparel) to determine accurate import duties. For mid-sized orders, Sea Freight (LCL) is the most cost-effective, while Air Freight is better for time-sensitive fashion trends. Consider working with a Freight Forwarder who specializes in your destination country to navigate local customs clearance.

Always use Secured Payment Services provided by reputable B2B platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure your funds are protected until shipping documents are verified. Avoid direct wire transfers to private bank accounts. Ensure the Sales Contract explicitly states the lead time, quality tolerances, and refund policies for defective items (usually a 1-3% defect allowance is standard in garment manufacturing).
