Wholesale plastic comb manufacturers

When sourcing wholesale plastic combs, the choice of material determines durability and user experience. PP (Polypropylene) is the most common for budget-friendly, flexible combs, while ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) offers higher impact resistance and a premium finish. For professional or salon-grade combs, look for Carbon Fiber or Celcon, which are heat-resistant and anti-static. Ensure the supplier uses virgin plastic rather than recycled scraps to avoid brittleness and unpleasant chemical odors.

Compliance is critical to avoid customs seizures. For the US market, ensure products are BPA-free and comply with CPSIA if marketed for children. For the EU, products must meet REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) standards to ensure no harmful phthalates or heavy metals are present. Always request a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and Third-party Lab Test Reports from the supplier before finalizing the order.

Low-quality combs often have molding seams (burrs) between the teeth that can snag and damage hair. You should specify 'Seamless' or 'Saw-cut' teeth in your requirements. High-quality combs undergo a polishing or tumbling process to ensure the tips of the teeth are rounded and smooth, protecting the scalp from scratches. Request high-resolution photos or a physical sample to inspect the smoothness of the teeth gaps.

For wholesale orders, branding is usually achieved through Silk-screen printing, Heat transfer printing, or Laser engraving. If you are ordering in high volumes (typically >10,000 units), you can request Custom Molded Logos where your brand is embossed directly into the plastic. Additionally, specify Pantone Color Matching to ensure the plastic resin matches your brand identity perfectly.

The primary risk in plastic goods is the use of 'regrind' material. To mitigate this, use Trade Fulfillment services on Made-in-China.com to secure your payment. Hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a 'Drop Test' and 'Flexibility Test' at the factory before the final balance is paid. This ensures the batch meets the agreed-upon tensile strength.

Plastic combs are lightweight but can be voluminous. To optimize costs, use Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) rather than air courier. Negotiate FOB (Free On Board) terms to have better control over the shipping costs and choose your own freight forwarder. Ensure the supplier uses double-corrugated export cartons and palletization to prevent crushing during long-transit maritime shipping.

Pricing for plastic items is heavily dependent on raw material (resin) market prices and mold efficiency. Ask for a tiered pricing structure (e.g., 5k, 20k, 50k units). If your volume is high, negotiate a lower unit price by offering to pay for the mold cost upfront, which removes the 'amortized mold fee' from each individual unit, leading to significant long-term savings on repeat orders.

Always verify the supplier's Business License and Export Qualifications on the Made-in-China.com platform. Look for 'Audited Suppliers' who have undergone on-site verification. Never transfer funds to personal bank accounts; always use official corporate accounts or the platform's secure payment gateway to ensure traceability and dispute resolution support.
