Wholesale perfume supplier manufacturers

When sourcing perfume at scale, you must ensure the supplier adheres to ISO 22716 (GMP for Cosmetics) to guarantee manufacturing hygiene. For the liquid itself, request MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) and IFRA (International Fragrance Association) compliance certificates to ensure the fragrance oils used are safe for skin contact and meet international chemical safety standards. If exporting to the EU, verify CPNP registration; for the US, ensure FDA voluntary cosmetic registration.

The concentration of fragrance oil determines the grade: Parfum (20-30%), Eau de Parfum (15-20%), and Eau de Toilette (5-15%). Ask the supplier for the longevity rating (typically 6-8 hours for EDP) and the olfactory pyramid (top, middle, and base notes). Request a stability test report to ensure the scent does not discolor or change its profile when exposed to light or temperature fluctuations over time.

The bottle should be made of high-white flint glass for clarity and durability. The pump sprayer (atomizer) is critical; look for a leakage rate of 0% and a fine mist spray pattern. For the collar and cap, ensure a tight friction fit or magnetic closure. If you are doing OEM/ODM, confirm the supplier offers UV coating, silk-screen printing, or hot stamping capabilities for branding.

Calculate the Total Landed Cost, which includes the unit price, hazardous goods shipping surcharges, and customs duties. Many suppliers on Made-in-China.com offer tiered pricing; for example, a 30-50% price reduction is common when moving from a 1,000-unit MOQ to 10,000 units. Factor in the cost of custom molds if you require a unique bottle shape, which can range from $1,500 to $5,000.

Perfume is classified as Class 3 Flammable Liquid (UN1266) due to its high alcohol content. This means it requires specialized hazardous materials (HazMat) packaging and documentation. You must work with a freight forwarder experienced in DG (Dangerous Goods) shipping. Failure to declare these correctly can lead to seizure by customs or heavy fines.

Always use Secured Trading Services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until the goods are shipped. Before sending a large deposit, hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to conduct a During Production Check (DUPRO) and a Final Random Inspection (FRI) to verify the juice quality and packaging integrity.

Focus on the fragrance oil source; suppliers using oils from reputable houses like Givaudan or Firmenich may charge more but offer better brand value. Negotiate for free samples of new scents in exchange for a commitment to a larger trial order. Also, request a 2-5% overage on pump sprayers and caps, as these are the components most likely to fail during retail use.

Ensure your fragrance does not infringe on trademarked scents or bottle designs of major brands. When importing to the US or Europe, ensure the ingredient list (INCI) is accurately printed on the outer packaging as per local labeling laws. Request the supplier to provide a Certificate of Origin to take advantage of any applicable Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) that might reduce import tariffs.
