Water finding paste manufacturers

The paste must provide a sharp and immediate color change (typically from golden brown to brilliant red) upon contact with water. It should be effective in petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel, heating oil, and kerosene. Ensure the formula is non-toxic and non-corrosive to prevent damage to storage tanks or measuring tapes.

Extreme temperatures can alter the consistency of the paste. Buyers should look for products that maintain a stable viscosity between -10°C and 50°C. For cold-weather applications, ensure the paste does not freeze or become too brittle to apply to the gauging tape.

Suppliers should ideally provide MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) to ensure safe handling and transport. While there is no single global ISO for the paste itself, it should align with ASTM D1085 standards for gauging petroleum and petroleum products. Verification of ISO 9001 for the manufacturer ensures consistent chemical batch quality.

Standard water finding paste typically has a shelf life of 2 to 3 years if stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. B2B buyers should request air-tight packaging (usually plastic or metal tubes) to prevent premature reaction with atmospheric humidity.

Water finding paste is generally classified as non-hazardous, but you must confirm the HS Code (typically 3822.00) with the supplier. Ensure the supplier provides a Certification for Safe Transport of Chemical Goods to avoid delays at customs or rejection by airlines/shipping lines.

Focus on volume-based pricing tiers; for example, ordering 500+ tubes can often reduce the unit price by 15-20%. Request a pre-shipment sample to test the reaction speed and color contrast before releasing the final payment. Mentioning long-term cooperation for annual procurement cycles can also secure better lead times.

Always use Secured Trading Services provided by the platform to protect your funds until delivery is confirmed. Prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com, as these companies have undergone third-party verification of their business licenses and production capabilities.

Request double-walled corrugated boxes and internal padding to prevent the tubes from bursting under pressure during transit. For large sea freight orders, ensure the container is kept away from heat sources (stowed under deck) to prevent the chemical components from separating or degrading.
