Under armour manufacturers

When sourcing performance apparel similar to Under Armour, you must prioritize moisture-wicking capabilities and fabric composition. Ensure the supplier uses a blend of polyester and elastane (spandex) to achieve the necessary 4-way stretch. For compression gear, verify the GSM (Grams per Square Meter)—typically between 200-250 GSM—to ensure adequate muscle support without being see-through. Additionally, check for anti-odor technology (such as silver ion treatments) and flatlock seam construction to prevent chafing during high-intensity activities.

Compliance is critical for global trade. You should require suppliers to provide OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification to ensure the textiles are free from harmful substances. For the US market, ensure compliance with CPSIA (especially for youth sizes), and for the EU, verify REACH regulation adherence. If the apparel includes UV protection, request test reports for UPF 50+ ratings to validate sun-protection claims.

For athletic footwear, focus on the midsole material and outsole grip. Look for EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) or TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) cushioning for impact absorption. The outsole should be made of high-abrasion rubber with specific traction patterns suited for the intended use (e.g., multidirectional lugs for training). Ensure the upper material uses breathable engineered mesh to manage heat and moisture effectively.

Prioritize suppliers on Made-in-China.com that hold ISO 9001 or BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) certifications. Request a factory audit report or a video walkthrough of the production line. It is essential to evaluate their customization (OEM/ODM) capabilities, specifically their proficiency in heat-transfer printing, sublimation, and 3D embroidery, as these are standard for branding performance apparel.

To avoid legal issues, never import counterfeit goods bearing the Under Armour logo without authorization. If you are sourcing 'Under Armour style' products, ensure they do not infringe on patented technologies (like specific sole designs) or trademarked logos. Always use your own brand or source white-label products from reputable manufacturers on Made-in-China.com who provide legal indemnity.

Start by requesting a tiered pricing structure based on volume. For performance wear, a typical MOQ is 500–1,000 pieces per color/style. You can negotiate a lower MOQ for a 'trial order' by offering to pay a 10-15% premium on the unit price, which can be credited back to your first full-scale bulk order. Always clarify if the price is FOB (Free On Board) to maintain control over your shipping costs.

Use Secured Trading Services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure your payment is only released after the goods pass inspection. Hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). Focus on a Major Defect AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) of 2.5, checking for consistent sizing, stitching strength, and logo alignment.

Apparel is high-volume but relatively lightweight. For large orders, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is the most cost-effective, though you must factor in a 30-45 day lead time. For high-value footwear or urgent restocks, Air Freight is faster but significantly more expensive. Ensure your supplier provides a detailed Packing List and Commercial Invoice with the correct HS Codes (e.g., 6109.90 for synthetic t-shirts) to avoid customs delays and ensure accurate duty calculations.
