Tungsten watches manufacturers

Tungsten Carbide is renowned for its extreme hardness (8-9 on the Mohs scale), making it virtually scratch-proof compared to stainless steel. It maintains a permanent mirror-like polish that does not fade over time. Additionally, its high density gives the watch a substantial, luxury weight, and it is generally hypoallergenic, making it suitable for buyers with sensitive skin.

Buyers should ensure the watch features Sapphire Crystal glass to match the scratch resistance of the tungsten case. For the movement, specify Japanese (Miyota/Seiko) or Swiss (Ronda/ETA) quartz or automatic movements to ensure reliability. Water resistance should be at least 3ATM for dress watches and 5ATM-10ATM for sports models. Verify that the IP (Ion Plating) process is used for gold or rose gold finishes to ensure long-lasting color adhesion.

For the US market, ensure compliance with CPSC lead and nickel content regulations. For the EU, products must meet REACH standards and carry the CE mark. If the watch includes a battery, a UN38.3 Test Report and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) are mandatory for international shipping and customs clearance.

Tungsten is brittle; therefore, buyers should check the precision of the link pins and ensure the butterfly clasp is made of high-grade 316L stainless steel for flexibility. Request a drop test report from the supplier to understand the impact resistance, as tungsten can crack if dropped on hard surfaces from significant heights.

Always request a material analysis report (XRF test) to confirm the tungsten content. Use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to hold payment until a third-party pre-shipment inspection confirms the weight and hardness match the agreed specifications. Genuine tungsten watches are significantly heavier than steel or alloy counterparts.

Start by requesting a tiered pricing structure (e.g., 100, 500, 1000 units). Many manufacturers on Made-in-China.com allow for mixed-model MOQs, where you can combine different dial colors within the same case mold to meet the minimum. Negotiate for free logo laser-engraving on the case back and crown as a value-add for your first bulk order.

Due to the high weight-to-volume ratio, air freight costs can escalate quickly. Ensure the supplier uses custom-fitted EVA foam packaging to prevent the watches from knocking against each other, which could cause the tungsten to chip. For large orders, sea freight (LCL) is more economical, but ensure the master cartons are double-walled and moisture-proofed.

Avoid 'replica' designs that mimic luxury brands, as these will be seized by customs. Work with suppliers who offer Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) services and provide a Certificate of Authorization for any private label branding. Ensure your contract includes a clause stating the supplier is liable for any trademark infringements regarding the case design.
