Tea harvester machine manufacturers

When sourcing a tea harvester, you must evaluate the cutting width (typically ranging from 600mm to 1200mm) to match your tea plantation's row spacing. The engine type is critical; choose between 2-stroke engines for lightweight portability or 4-stroke engines for better fuel efficiency and lower emissions. Ensure the blade is made of high-carbon steel or SK5 alloy to maintain sharpness and prevent tearing the tea leaves, which can affect the regrowth of the bush. Additionally, check the vibration reduction system to ensure operator comfort during long working hours.

Single-person harvesters are ideal for small-scale farms or steep, terraced terrains where maneuverability is key. They are lighter but have a smaller harvesting capacity. Double-person harvesters are designed for large, flat plantations, offering significantly higher efficiency (up to 5-8 times faster than manual picking). For B2B buyers, the choice should depend on the topography of the target market and the labor costs of the end-users.

For the European market, the machine must have a CE certification, specifically complying with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. For the US market, EPA or CARB certification for the engine emissions is mandatory. Ensure the supplier provides a Noise Emission Certificate, as many regions have strict decibel limits for agricultural machinery. Always verify that the product includes safety guards around the cutting blades and an emergency stop function.

Regular maintenance is vital for mechanical longevity. The air filter should be cleaned every 10 hours of operation to prevent dust intake. The gearbox requires high-quality lithium-based grease every 20-30 hours. Blades must be sharpened and lubricated daily to ensure a clean cut. Buyers should prioritize suppliers who provide detailed O&M manuals and a ready supply of wearing parts like spark plugs, filters, and blades.

Utilize Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading Service to ensure your payment is only released after you confirm receipt and quality. Conduct a factory audit or hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Bureau Veritas) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). This ensures the mechanical performance and engine specifications match your order before the goods leave the port.

Focus on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for a spare parts kit (1-2% of order value) to be included for free, covering common wear-and-tear items. For bulk orders exceeding 50 units, aim for a 10-15% discount or request OEM branding/custom color schemes to enhance your local market presence.

Tea harvesters contain engines, which are classified as Dangerous Goods (UN3166) if they contain fuel or oil. Ensure the supplier drains all fluids and provides a 'Non-Hazardous' declaration to lower shipping costs. Use reinforced wooden crate packaging to prevent structural damage during sea freight, and ensure the crates are fumigated to comply with international phytosanitary standards (ISPM 15).

Establish a warranty agreement of at least 12 months for core components (engine and gearbox). Require the supplier to provide video technical support and assembly tutorials. For large-scale distributors, negotiate for the supplier to provide technical training sessions via video conference for your local maintenance team to ensure high customer satisfaction.
