Stamp ink manufacturers

Buyers must distinguish between water-based, oil-based, and solvent-based inks. Water-based ink is ideal for porous surfaces like paper and cardboard, offering fast absorption and minimal bleed-through. For non-porous surfaces such as plastic, metal, or glass, solvent-based (permanent) ink is required to ensure adhesion and prevent smudging. Additionally, verify the pigment density to ensure high contrast and the viscosity levels to prevent leakage in self-inking stamps.

Compliance is critical due to the chemical nature of the product. Ensure the supplier provides MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for all ink types. For the US market, products must meet ASTM D-4236 (LHAMA) standards for chronic toxicity. For the EU, compliance with REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) and EN71-3 (Safety of Toys) is essential, especially if the ink is intended for office or school use.

Request test reports regarding lightfastness (resistance to fading under UV light) and waterproof capabilities after drying. For industrial applications, check the drying time; high-speed production lines require 'quick-dry' formulas that set in under 3 seconds. For self-inking stamps, ensure the ink is non-corrosive to the rubber or photopolymer die plate to extend the stamp's lifespan.

Professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com typically offer OEM/ODM services, including custom bottle sizes (from 10ml to 1000ml bulk containers) and private labeling. Ensure the packaging features leak-proof seals (induction sealing) and child-resistant caps if targeting the retail sector. For bulk procurement, look for refill-friendly nozzle designs that reduce waste.

Stamp ink is classified as a liquid chemical, which may be flagged as 'sensitive goods' by customs. You must ensure the supplier provides a 'Certification for Safe Transport of Chemical Goods' for both air and sea freight. Failure to provide this can lead to shipment seizures or significant delays at the border.

Standard MOQs for custom colors usually range from 500 to 1,000 units. To optimize costs, negotiate based on total volume (liters) rather than just unit count. On Made-in-China.com, you can often secure a 10-15% discount by consolidating orders of different colors into a single shipment to reach higher weight brackets for lower freight rates.

Always use Secured Trading Services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until the goods are verified. Before the final balance payment, hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a 'Random Sampling Test' to verify that the chemical composition matches the approved pre-production sample.

For small batches, International Express (DHL/FedEx) with 'Liquid Goods' clearance is fastest but expensive. For bulk B2B orders, LCL (Less than Container Load) sea freight is the most economical. Ensure the supplier uses double-walled corrugated cartons and internal dividers to prevent bottle breakage during the high-pressure environment of sea transit.
