Soxhlet extraction apparatus manufacturers

When sourcing a Soxhlet Extraction Apparatus, prioritize Borosilicate Glass 3.3 for its exceptional thermal shock resistance and chemical durability. Ensure the joint sizes (e.g., 24/29 or 29/32) are standardized to match your existing heating mantles and condensers. For high-throughput environments, look for automated Soxhlet extractors that feature integrated solvent recovery systems and programmable temperature controls to improve efficiency and safety.

To ensure safety and accuracy, the apparatus should comply with ISO 3585 for glass properties and ISO 3819 for laboratory beakers/flasks. If you are purchasing an automated electrical version, verify CE certification for the European market or UL listing for North America. For food and environmental testing, ensure the equipment supports methods like AOAC or EPA 3540C to guarantee that the extraction results meet regulatory scrutiny.

The siphon tube is the most critical component; it must have a uniform diameter and be free of internal stress to prevent premature breakage or 'stalling' during the cycle. The condenser (typically Allihn or Graham type) should have a high surface area for efficient cooling. Request annealing certificates from the supplier to confirm that the glassware has been properly heat-treated to eliminate internal tension, which is a common cause of cracking under heat.

Soxhlet apparatuses are widely used in lipid extraction (fat content analysis) in food science, environmental soil testing, and pharmaceutical botanical extraction. Capacity ranges from small-scale 60ml units for R&D to large-scale 2000ml+ units for pilot production. For commercial labs, multi-unit extraction systems (2, 4, or 6 positions) are recommended to allow for simultaneous testing of multiple samples, significantly reducing labor costs.

Glassware is highly fragile. You must mandate double-wall corrugated box packaging with custom-cut EPE foam inserts that cradle each glass component. Request that the supplier uses palletized shipping for bulk orders to minimize manual handling. It is highly recommended to purchase Marine/Cargo Insurance and include a clause for 'hidden damage' discovered within 7 days of arrival.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for spare parts (like extra siphon tubes or flasks) to be included at a discount, as these are high-wear items. For large orders, request a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) by a third party to verify glass thickness and joint precision. Use Secured Trading services on Made-in-China.com to ensure payment is only released upon proof of shipment and compliance with quality terms.

Always verify the supplier's Audited Supplier report on Made-in-China.com to check their factory scale and export history. Use Letter of Credit (L/C) for very large orders or Telegraphic Transfer (T/T) with a 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L). Avoid suppliers who insist on 100% upfront payment via non-traceable methods.

Ensure the supplier provides the correct HS Code (typically 7017.20 for laboratory glassware) to avoid misclassification and overpayment of duties. Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) that some regions (like the EU) may apply to Chinese glassware. Ensure all Commercial Invoices and Packing Lists clearly state 'Laboratory Glassware for Research Use' to facilitate smoother customs clearance.
