Shot glass manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize Soda-Lime Glass for standard durability or Borosilicate Glass if the product needs to withstand thermal shock (e.g., flaming shots). For high-end hospitality, Lead-Free Crystal offers superior clarity and a premium hand-feel. Ensure the glass has a thickened base (heavy base) to lower the center of gravity, reducing breakage and improving stability during busy service.

Since these are food-contact surfaces, products must comply with FDA (U.S.) or EC 1935/2004 (EU) regulations. Specifically, verify that the glass and any decorative inks pass Lead and Cadmium leaching tests (ASTM C738-94). If sourcing for the California market, Prop 65 compliance is essential to avoid legal liabilities regarding chemical exposure.

Request information on the printing technique: High-temperature decal firing (500°C-600°C) is the gold standard for dishwasher safety and scratch resistance. Avoid low-cost organic inks that peel after a few washes. Ask for a cross-cut adhesion test report to ensure the logo remains intact under commercial wear and tear.

Consider capacity accuracy; a standard shot is typically 1.5 oz (44ml), but 'cheat' glasses with thick bottoms can reduce pour volume to 1 oz to manage liquor costs. Additionally, stackable designs are crucial for high-volume bars to save storage space, while beaded rims provide extra chip resistance.

Glassware is highly fragile; insist on 5-layer corrugated export cartons and individual cell dividers (egg-crate packaging). For bulk shipments, require palletization with plastic wrap and corner protectors. It is highly recommended to include a 1-3% breakage allowance in the contract or request the supplier to provide extra units to cover potential transit damage.

Focus on Tiered Pricing based on volume; for orders exceeding 5,000 units, you can typically negotiate a 10-15% discount. Always request a pre-production sample before the full run. To ensure transaction security, use secured payment terms and consider hiring a third-party inspection service (like V-Trust or SGS) to perform a 'Drop Test' and 'Annealing Test' before the final balance is paid.

Due to the high weight-to-value ratio, Sea Freight (FCL or LCL) is the only economically viable option for large volumes. For smaller boutique orders, Sea-to-Truck (Matson/ZIM) offers a balance of speed and cost. Ensure the HS Code (7013.37) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays and verify if your country imposes anti-dumping duties on Chinese glassware.
