Scoreboard manufacturers

When sourcing digital scoreboards, prioritize High-Brightness LEDs (minimum 5000 nits for outdoor use to ensure sunlight readability) and a wide viewing angle of at least 120 degrees. For durability, ensure the cabinet has an IP65 rating for outdoor weatherproofing or impact-resistant polycarbonate covers for indoor sports like basketball. Additionally, verify the refresh rate (≥1920Hz) to prevent flickering on camera broadcasts.

Confirm that the software supports multi-sport modes (e.g., basketball, soccer, volleyball) with programmable period lengths and bonus indicators. The control system should offer wireless communication (RF or Wi-Fi) with a range of at least 100-200 meters, and ideally, compatibility with standard protocols like RS485 or Ethernet for integration with stadium management software.

For the US market, UL or ETL certification is essential for electrical safety, along with FCC compliance for wireless components. For the EU, look for CE marking and RoHS certification to ensure the absence of hazardous substances. If the scoreboard is for professional venues, check for FIBA, FIFA, or IAAF technical requirement alignment regarding digit size and display layout.

While LED digit-based displays are more cost-effective for simple score tracking, Full-Matrix LED Video Walls offer higher ROI through advertising revenue and multimedia playback. For bulk procurement, sourcing from Made-in-China.com allows for a 20-30% cost reduction compared to local distributors, provided you account for modular design which lowers long-term maintenance costs by allowing single-tile replacement.

Scoreboards are fragile electronic goods. Insist on vacuum-sealed anti-static packaging and reinforced plywood crates (not just cardboard). Request the supplier to include Shockwatch or Tiltwatch sensors on the crates to monitor handling. For large displays, shipping in modular panels rather than a single unit reduces the risk of structural warping and lowers freight costs.

Focus on the Life Cycle Support rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for a 2-5% spare parts kit (including extra LED modules, receiving cards, and power supplies) to be included at no extra cost. Use the competitive landscape on Made-in-China.com to request OEM branding and a 3-year warranty as standard terms for bulk orders.

Request a factory audit report or a live video inspection of their aging test area, where scoreboards should be tested for at least 72 hours continuously before packing. Check if the supplier has experience with international stadium projects and ask for third-party LVD (Low Voltage Directive) and EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) test reports.

Ensure the supplier provides the correct HS Code (typically 853120) to avoid customs delays. For oversized outdoor scoreboards, Sea Freight (FCL) is the most economical, but you must ensure the supplier provides a Detailed Packing List and Certificate of Origin to take advantage of potential trade agreement duty preferences. Always use Trade Assurance or Letter of Credit (L/C) for transaction security.
