Scissor lift used manufacturers

When sourcing a used scissor lift, you must prioritize platform height and load capacity to ensure they meet your specific operational needs. Inspect the power source (Electric for indoor use or Diesel/Rough Terrain for outdoor use) and verify the battery health or engine hours. A critical technical check involves the hydraulic system; look for signs of leaks or cylinder scoring. Ensure the emergency lowering system and pothole protection are fully functional to maintain site safety.

To ensure legal operation and safety, the equipment should ideally comply with ANSI/SAIA A92.20 (USA), CE EN280 (Europe), or AS 1418.10 (Australia). You should request the Annual Inspection Report and the Maintenance Logbook to verify that the machine has been serviced according to the manufacturer's schedule. For cross-border trade, ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Conformity to facilitate customs clearance.

Examine the scissor arms for any cracks, welds, or deformations, as these indicate structural fatigue. Check the pivot pins and bushings for excessive play. A well-maintained unit should have less than 500-1000 operating hours for electric models to be considered 'low-use.' Always ask for a video of the lift under full load to observe the stability and smoothness of the extension and retraction cycles.

Electric Scissor Lifts are best suited for indoor warehouse maintenance, retail inventory management, and construction fit-outs due to their non-marking tires and zero emissions. Rough Terrain (RT) Scissor Lifts are designed for outdoor construction sites with uneven surfaces, featuring four-wheel drive and outriggers for leveling. Understanding the ground conditions and ventilation of your site is crucial for selecting the right model.

Always insist on a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) conducted by a reputable third-party agency like SGS or TÜV. This ensures the machine's condition matches the seller's description before final payment. Use Secure Payment Terms such as a Letter of Credit (L/C) or the escrow services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your funds until shipping documents are verified.

Focus your negotiation on the refurbishment scope. Instead of just asking for a lower price, negotiate for new batteries, new tires, or a fresh coat of anti-corrosive paint. Ask for a spare parts kit (including filters, fuses, and seals) to be included in the container. For bulk orders of 3 or more units, you can typically negotiate a 5-10% discount on the total FOB price.

Scissor lifts are heavy and dense; therefore, Sea Freight is the only economical option. For multiple units, Container Loading (FCL) is safer to prevent damage. Ensure the supplier uses heavy-duty tie-down straps and wooden blocks to secure the lift inside the container. Verify the HS Code (typically 8427.10 or 8427.20) with your local customs broker to calculate accurate import duties and taxes before finalizing the purchase.

Verify the supplier's credentials on Made-in-China.com, looking for Audited Suppliers with a long history of exports. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts; always use corporate bank accounts that match the company name on the proforma invoice. Request a live video call to see the specific serial number of the machine you are buying to ensure the unit actually exists in their inventory.
