Rechargeable lead battery manufacturers

Selecting the correct battery depends on the discharge requirements. For UPS systems and emergency lighting, prioritize High-Rate Discharge batteries. For solar or wind energy storage, choose Deep Cycle Gel batteries as they handle frequent charge-discharge cycles better. For general telecommunications, AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) batteries are preferred due to their maintenance-free design and leak-proof properties.

Ensure the battery meets IEC 60896 standards for stationary lead-acid batteries. Key metrics include Cycle Life (typically 300-500 cycles at 100% DOD) and Self-Discharge Rate (should be less than 3% per month). Verify the grid alloy composition; high-tin alloys significantly improve corrosion resistance and extend the service life of the battery.

To ensure safety and legality, suppliers must provide CE, UL (Underwriters Laboratories), and RoHS certifications. Since lead is a hazardous material, the manufacturer must hold an ISO 14001 Environmental Management certification. For shipping, a valid MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) and a UN38.3 Test Report (though more common for lithium, often requested for sealed lead-acid) are essential for customs clearance.

Check the casing material, which should be UL94-V0 flame-retardant ABS plastic to prevent fire hazards. Inspect the terminal material; high-quality copper or silver-plated terminals ensure better conductivity and lower heat generation. A heavy weight relative to capacity usually indicates thicker lead plates, which directly correlates to a longer functional lifespan.

Lead batteries are classified as Class 8 Dangerous Goods (Corrosive). You must use specialized freight forwarders experienced in DG (Dangerous Goods) handling. Ensure the packaging complies with IATA/IMDG packing instructions to prevent short circuits and leakage. Sea freight is the most economical method, but you must account for longer lead times and specific port requirements for hazardous materials.

Always use Secure Payment services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. Conduct a factory audit or hire a third-party inspector to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI), focusing on voltage consistency and internal resistance testing across the batch.

Since lead is a commodity, prices fluctuate with the LME (London Metal Exchange) lead prices. Negotiate a price adjustment formula based on the current lead index. For orders exceeding 1,000 units, aim for a 10-15% discount, and request free spare parts (2-3%) or extended warranties to offset potential failure rates in the field.

Verify the HS Code (typically 8507.20) to determine the specific import duties in your country. Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) that some regions (like the EU or USA) may impose on lead-acid batteries from specific origins. Always request a Certificate of Origin (CO) to benefit from potential Free Trade Agreement (FTA) tariff reductions.
