Reagent glass bottle manufacturers

The most critical factor is the glass type. You should prioritize Borosilicate 3.3 glass for its exceptional thermal shock resistance and chemical inertness, which prevents leaching into high-purity reagents. For light-sensitive chemicals, ensure the supplier provides Amber glass that meets USP <661> light transmission standards to prevent photodegradation. For general storage, Soda-lime glass may be economically feasible but is less resistant to chemical attack.

Verify that the bottles feature a GL45 or GL80 thread standard for compatibility with international cap systems. The caps should be made of Polypropylene (PP) or PBT, equipped with a pouring ring to ensure drip-free dispensing. For volatile or hazardous substances, request PTFE-lined caps to provide a superior chemical barrier and prevent evaporation or leakage during long-term storage.

Suppliers must adhere to ISO 4796-1 for laboratory glassware requirements. If the bottles are used in pharmaceutical or food-related industries, ensure they comply with FDA (Food and Drug Administration) or EU 10/2011 food-grade contact regulations. Additionally, look for ISO 9001 certification to guarantee consistent manufacturing quality and dimensional accuracy.

Yes, professional manufacturers on Made-in-China.com offer customization such as permanent white enamel graduations for volume measurement and large marking spots for labeling. You can also request plastic-coated glass (safety coating), which contains the glass shards and liquid in case of accidental breakage, significantly enhancing workplace safety.

The main risk is breakage during transit due to improper handling. You must mandate 5-layer corrugated export cartons and individual cell dividers (egg-crate packing). For bulk orders, insist on palletization with shrink-wrap and edge protectors to minimize movement. It is highly recommended to include a breakage allowance clause in the contract, typically covering 2-3% of the total volume.

Utilize the 'Audit Reports' available on Made-in-China.com to verify the supplier's factory capacity and export history. Always request a pre-shipment sample to conduct a 'boil test' or chemical resistance test. For high-value orders, consider hiring a third-party inspection service (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a random AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) inspection at the factory before the final payment.

Focus on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for tiered pricing based on annual volume rather than a single PO. Ask the supplier if they can provide customized labeling or barcodes at the source to reduce your local labor costs. Additionally, discuss flexible payment terms such as 30% deposit and 70% against the Bill of Lading (B/L) to manage your cash flow effectively.

Ensure the supplier provides an accurate HS Code (typically 7017.90 for laboratory glassware) to avoid customs delays or incorrect duty applications. Because glass is heavy, Sea Freight (FCL or LCL) is the most cost-effective method; however, ensure the cargo is insured under 'All Risks' marine insurance. Check for any anti-dumping duties that your specific country may impose on Chinese glassware to avoid unexpected costs at the port of entry.
