Rattan round manufacturers

Buyers must distinguish between Natural Rattan, which is eco-friendly and ideal for indoor or covered patio use, and PE (Polyethylene) Rattan, which is a synthetic alternative designed for all-weather outdoor durability. Natural rattan offers a premium, organic aesthetic but requires protection from moisture, while PE rattan is UV-resistant, waterproof, and easier to maintain for high-traffic commercial outdoor spaces.

For round seating or tables, the internal frame material is critical. Ensure the supplier uses powder-coated aluminum frames (minimum 1.2mm thickness) to prevent rust and provide a lightweight yet sturdy base. The weaving should be tight and consistent, with no visible loose ends, and the load-bearing capacity should be certified for at least 150kg (330 lbs) for single chairs.

To ensure market entry, products should meet EN 581 standards for outdoor furniture strength and safety. For the US market, compliance with CAL TB 117-2013 for flame retardancy of cushions is often required. Additionally, ensure the rattan is treated for pest control (Fumigation Certificate) if using natural materials, and verify REACH or RoHS compliance for synthetic PE materials to ensure they are free from toxic heavy metals.

Round shapes are more difficult to weave than flat surfaces. Check for uniformity in the curvature and ensure the 'start' and 'finish' points of the rattan strips are hidden under the frame. High-quality suppliers use full-round or half-round rattan rather than flat strips for a more luxurious feel and increased abrasion resistance.

The biggest risks are moisture damage (mold) and volumetric weight costs. Rattan is porous; ensure the supplier uses silica gel desiccant packets in every carton and wraps items in breathable non-woven fabric. Because round furniture is bulky and non-stackable, request KD (Knock-Down) designs to reduce shipping volume and lower ocean freight costs.

Focus on Tiered Pricing based on container loads (e.g., 20GP vs. 40HQ) rather than just unit price. Ask for a spare parts kit (extra rattan strips and feet glides) to be included at no cost. For long-term partnerships, negotiate a 30% deposit / 70% balance against BL copy payment structure to protect your cash flow.

Always use Secured Trading Services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure payment protection. Before the final payment, hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify that the moisture content is below 12% and the weaving matches the approved sample.

Verify the HS Code (typically 940153 for rattan seats) with your local customs broker to determine the exact duty rate. Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties that may apply to certain furniture categories in specific regions. Ensure the supplier provides a clear Certificate of Origin to potentially benefit from preferential trade agreements.
