Plastic glasses case manufacturers

You should look for High-Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) or Polypropylene (PP) for durability and flexibility. If you are targeting the premium or eco-friendly market, prioritize recycled plastics (rPET) or biodegradable wheat straw composites. Ensure the interior features a soft-touch flocking or microfiber lining to prevent lens scratching, and verify that the hinge mechanism is tested for at least 5,000 opening/closing cycles.

For the US market, products must be BPA-free and comply with CPSIA (lead and phthalate limits). For the EU, REACH regulation compliance is essential to ensure no harmful chemicals are present in the plastic or dyes. If the case is marketed as a medical device accessory, it may need to align with ISO 12870 standards. Always request FDA or CE certification documents from the supplier if the cases are bundled with prescription eyewear.

Focus on the closure security; magnetic closures or snap-fit designs should remain secure even when dropped. For B2B sourcing, consider stackability and weight, as lightweight designs (typically under 60g) significantly reduce international air freight costs. Additionally, ensure the internal dimensions are compatible with various frame styles, such as oversized sunglasses or slim reading glasses.

Most professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com offer Silk-screen printing, Heat transfer, or Laser engraving for branding. You should also inquire about custom mold services (OEM) if you require a unique shape. For the exterior finish, you can choose between matte, high-gloss, or rubberized 'soft-feel' coatings to differentiate your product in the market.

Always request a pre-production sample and perform a 'drop test' from 1.5 meters. Use third-party inspection services (like V-Trust or SGS) to conduct a During Production Check (DUPRO) to ensure the plastic resin grade matches the agreed-upon specifications. Avoid suppliers who offer prices significantly below the market average, as they may be using low-grade regrind plastic which is prone to cracking.

Negotiate based on volume-based pricing tiers. For plastic items, the unit cost drops significantly as volume increases due to the amortization of setup costs. Ask for a breakdown of the material cost vs. processing cost. If you are developing a custom shape, negotiate mold ownership rights and ensure the supplier agrees to mold maintenance at no extra cost for the first 50,000 units.

Plastic cases are prone to surface scuffing and pressure cracking during transit. Insist on individual polybag packaging for each case and the use of 5-layer corrugated export cartons. Ensure the cartons are not over-packed to prevent the bottom layers from crushing. For sea freight, request desiccant silica gel packs to prevent moisture buildup which can damage the interior lining or hinges.

Utilize the Secured Trading Service provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your payment. Never wire the full amount upfront; a standard 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) is the industry norm. Verify the supplier's Audit Reports and 'Diamond Member' status on the platform to confirm their business legitimacy and manufacturing capability.
