Piezo ignition manufacturers

When sourcing piezo igniters, you must prioritize output voltage (typically 12kV to 20kV) to ensure a strong enough spark for gas ignition. Evaluate the durability rating, usually measured in strike cycles; high-quality industrial units should exceed 30,000 to 50,000 strikes. Additionally, check the operating temperature range, as these components are often used in high-heat environments like grills or heaters, requiring materials that can withstand up to 120°C or higher without housing deformation.

For the North American market, look for CSA or UL certification to ensure the component meets safety standards for gas appliances. For the European market, CE marking and RoHS compliance are essential to verify that the product is free from hazardous substances and meets health and safety requirements. If the igniter is part of a larger gas system, ensure the supplier adheres to ISO 9001 quality management systems to guarantee batch-to-batch consistency.

The core of the device is the piezoelectric ceramic (PZT); ensure the supplier uses high-purity ceramics for stable energy conversion. The outer shell should be made of impact-resistant plastics (like ABS or Nylon 66) or metal, depending on the application. Inspect the lead wire insulation, which should be high-voltage resistant (silicone or Teflon) to prevent current leakage, and ensure the electrode tip is made of stainless steel or brass for corrosion resistance.

Piezo igniters are versatile, ranging from push-button types for portable camping stoves to rotary or squeeze types for household gas grills and water heaters. For industrial applications, you may require multi-outlet piezo igniters that can spark multiple burners simultaneously. Always match the spark gap distance (usually 3-5mm) and the mounting bracket design to your specific appliance housing to ensure seamless integration.

The biggest risk is functional failure during transit due to moisture or physical impact. Mitigate this by requiring anti-static and moisture-proof packaging. Another risk is low-quality ceramic cores that lose effectiveness after a few hundred clicks; always request a reliability test report and use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to hold payment until quality is verified via a third-party inspection.

Focus on tiered pricing based on volume, as piezo igniters are high-volume, low-margin items where a 10,000-unit order can reduce costs by 20-30% compared to the MOQ. Negotiate for free replacement parts (1-2% defect allowance) included in the shipment. For long-term partnerships, ask for customized lead lengths or connector types to be included in the base price to save on your own assembly labor costs.

While piezo igniters are not typically classified as hazardous 'batteries,' they are sensitive electronic components. Ensure the shipping documents clearly state they are 'Piezoelectric Igniters' to avoid customs delays. For shipping to the US or Europe, use FOB (Free On Board) terms if you have a reliable freight forwarder, or DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) if you want the supplier to handle all customs and import duties, ensuring a smoother door-to-door experience.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com, as these companies have undergone on-site inspections by third-party agencies like SGS or Bureau Veritas. Check their Business Type (Manufacturer vs. Trading Company) and look for a high 'Gold Member' age, which indicates long-term stability and reliability in the cross-border market.
