Paper tin packaging box manufacturers

When sourcing these boxes, you must distinguish between composite paper cans and tinplate-reinforced paper tubes. For the body, ensure the use of high-density food-grade kraft paper or rigid paperboard with a thickness typically ranging from 1.5mm to 3mm for structural integrity. If the product is for food, a food-grade aluminum foil liner is essential to provide a moisture-proof and oxygen-barrier environment. The top and bottom closures should be made of electrolytic tinplate (ETP) with a thickness of 0.21mm to 0.25mm to prevent rusting and ensure a secure seal.

Compliance depends heavily on the end-use. For food packaging (tea, coffee, snacks), suppliers must provide FDA (US) or EC 1935/2004 (EU) food contact safety certifications. Additionally, look for FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification to ensure the paper is sourced from sustainably managed forests. For the tin components, verify that the coatings and inks are BPA-free and REACH compliant to avoid heavy metal contamination issues during customs clearance.

To ensure brand consistency, request CMYK plus Pantone color matching. High-end boxes should utilize offset printing for sharp details. Evaluate the durability of finishes such as matte/gloss lamination, spot UV, or hot foil stamping; these should not peel or crack when the tube is flexed. Ask for a bursting strength test report to ensure the packaging can withstand the pressures of international shipping without deforming.

Paper tin boxes are widely used for high-end tea, cosmetics, essential oils, and luxury confectionery. Functional designs include air-tight easy-open ends (EOE) for freshness, shaker tops for spices, or recessed tin lids for stackability. For retail display, ensure the curled edges (rolled edges) of the paper tube are smooth and perfectly aligned with the tin base to provide a seamless, premium tactile experience.

Paper-tin boxes are susceptible to humidity and crushing. You should mandate the use of 5-layer corrugated outer cartons and moisture-absorbent silica gel packets inside each master carton. Ensure the supplier uses palletization with plastic wrap and corner protectors to prevent deformation during forklift handling. On Made-in-China.com, you can specifically request Verified Suppliers who offer third-party loading inspections.

Focus on the Plate-Making Fee (Cylinder Fee) and Sample Lead Time. For large orders, negotiate to have the mold/printing plate costs refunded once a certain volume is reached. Always clarify the overrun/underrun policy; in the packaging industry, a +/- 5% to 10% quantity variance is standard, so ensure you only pay for the actual quantity shipped.

Utilize Secured Trading services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to hold funds in escrow until shipping documents are verified. It is highly recommended to hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Final Random Inspection (FRI). They should check for tinplate oxidation, glue residue, and lid-fit tightness before the balance payment is released.

Because these boxes are hollow and have a high volume-to-weight ratio, shipping 'empty air' is expensive. Negotiate nested packaging (placing smaller boxes inside larger ones) if your product line allows. For large volumes, Sea Freight (FCL - Full Container Load) is the only economical option. If shipping LCL (Less than Container Load), ensure the freight forwarder calculates costs based on CBM (Cubic Meters) rather than weight to avoid unexpected surcharges.
