Naphthalene acetic acid naa manufacturers

NAA is a synthetic plant hormone in the auxin family used to stimulate root growth, promote fruit setting, and prevent premature fruit drop. In commercial agriculture, it is widely applied to apples, pears, and citrus to thin blossoms or ensure fruit remains on the tree until harvest. It is also a critical component in rooting powders for plant propagation via cuttings.

Buyers should look for Technical Grade (TC) NAA with a purity of 98% or higher. For easier application, NAA is often sold as Sodium 1-Naphthaleneacetate (NAA-Na), which is water-soluble. Ensure the product has a low heavy metal content and meets the specific active ingredient concentration required for your formulation or end-use.

As a plant growth regulator, NAA is classified as a pesticide in many jurisdictions. Suppliers must provide a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and a Certificate of Analysis (COA). Ensure the product complies with FAO/WHO specifications and local registrations such as EPA (USA), REACH (EU), or specific ICAMA registrations if sourcing from China.

Purchasing high-purity technical powder (98% TC) is generally more cost-effective for bulk buyers as it reduces shipping costs per unit of active ingredient. However, for buyers without specialized mixing facilities, purchasing pre-formulated aqueous solutions (e.g., 5% SL) may be more feasible to avoid the technical complexity and safety risks of large-scale dilution.

The primary risks include purity fluctuations and regulatory seizure. If the purity is lower than stated, it can lead to crop phytotoxicity (damage). Always use third-party inspection services (like SGS or BV) to verify the chemical composition before the balance payment is made. Ensure the HS Code (typically 2916.39) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays.

Focus on long-term stability and batch consistency. Request free samples (30-50g) for lab testing before placing a bulk order. Negotiate based on tiered pricing; for NAA, price breaks often occur at 100kg, 500kg, and 1-ton levels. Ask for Gold Member or Audited Supplier status on Made-in-China.com to ensure the factory has been physically verified.

NAA should be packed in moisture-proof, light-shielded containers, typically 25kg fiber drums with inner plastic bags. Since it is a chemical substance, verify if the specific formulation is classified as Dangerous Goods (DG) for sea freight. Ensure the supplier provides a Pony Test report or a DGM report to facilitate smooth air or sea transit to your destination country.

Utilize Secured Trading Services offered by Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until the goods are shipped. Avoid direct wire transfers to personal accounts. For large orders, consider using a Letter of Credit (L/C) to ensure that payment is only released upon the presentation of valid shipping documents and quality certificates.
