Modern glass table manufacturers

When sourcing modern glass tables, the most critical factor is the use of Tempered Safety Glass. Ensure the glass complies with international standards such as EN 12150-1 (EU) or ANSI Z97.1 (US). Tempered glass is 4 to 5 times stronger than standard glass and, if broken, shatters into small, blunt granules rather than sharp shards, significantly reducing the risk of injury.

The connection between the glass top and the base is a common failure point. Look for UV-bonded metal disks or high-quality suction gaskets that secure the top to the frame. For the frame itself, prioritize 304 stainless steel or powder-coated aluminum to prevent rust and ensure a load-bearing capacity of at least 50-100kg, depending on the table size.

For coffee tables, a thickness of 8mm to 10mm is standard. For dining tables or office desks that bear more weight, a minimum of 12mm tempered glass is recommended. If the design is 'all-glass' (bent glass), ensure the thickness reaches 15mm to 19mm to maintain structural rigidity without a metal support frame.

To differentiate your product line, inquire about edge finishing (flat polish, beveled, or pencil edge), glass tints (smoked, bronze, or ultra-clear low-iron glass), and anti-fingerprint coatings. For commercial projects, verify if the supplier can provide custom dimensions with a tolerance of ±1mm.

Glass is a high-risk category. You must mandate 5-layer corrugated cardboard packaging with high-density EPE foam protecting all edges. For LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments, require wooden crates or plywood cases (ISPM 15 compliant) to prevent crushing. Always request a drop test report from the supplier before the goods leave the factory.

When using Made-in-China.com, look for Audited Suppliers to ensure factory legitimacy. Negotiate a staged payment plan (e.g., 30% deposit, 70% against BL copy) and clearly define the Acceptable Quality Level (AQL). If the defect rate exceeds 2-3%, ensure the contract includes a replacement or refund clause for the next shipment.

Utilize Secured Trading Services provided by the platform to protect your funds. Never transfer money to private bank accounts; always use the official corporate account listed on the supplier's profile. For large volumes, consider hiring a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify glass quality and quantity.

Glass tables are heavy and fragile, making sea freight the only economical option. Clarify the Incoterms; FOB (Free On Board) is recommended so you can control the shipping costs via your own forwarder. Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties that some regions (like the EU) may apply to specific glass products originating from overseas, and ensure the HS Code (typically 9403.89) is correctly declared.
