Military coat manufacturers

When evaluating military coats, prioritize fabric composition and weight. For tactical use, a 65% polyester and 35% cotton ripstop blend is the industry standard for balancing durability and breathability. Ensure the fabric weight is appropriate for the intended climate, typically ranging from 210gsm to 240gsm. Additionally, check for reinforced stitching at high-stress points like elbows and shoulders, and verify that the zippers are YKK or equivalent industrial grade to ensure longevity in rugged environments.

Depending on the end-use scenario, the coat should feature DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating or a Teflon finish to resist stains and liquids. For cold-weather variants, look for Thinsulate™ insulation or high-density fleece linings. If the product is for professional combat use, inquire about NIR (Near-Infrared) signature management technology, which helps the wearer remain undetected by night-vision devices. Always request lab test reports for colorfastness to light and washing to ensure the camouflage pattern does not fade.

Compliance is critical for government or security contracts. Ensure the supplier adheres to ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 14001 for environmental standards. For specific markets, products may need to meet OEKO-TEX Standard 100 for chemical safety. If you are sourcing for the US market, be aware of Berry Amendment compliance if the contract requires domestic origin; otherwise, ensure the goods meet MIL-SPEC (Military Specifications) or ASTM international standards for tensile strength and flame resistance.

Camouflage patterns like MultiCam, Woodland, or Digital Desert must be precise; even slight color deviations can render a batch useless for professional units. Request a pre-production sample (PPS) to verify pattern scaling and color accuracy under different lighting. For sizing, provide a detailed size chart in centimeters, as 'Standard Large' varies significantly between Asian and Western manufacturers. Ensure the supplier offers extended sizing (S to 5XL) to accommodate diverse end-user body types.

Military coats can sometimes be flagged as 'dual-use' goods or tactical equipment. Always clarify the HS Code (typically 6201 or 6202) with your customs broker. Ensure the branding and labeling do not include restricted national emblems or sensitive insignia that could lead to seizure. When sourcing from Made-in-China.com, use the Audit Reports to verify that the supplier has the necessary export licenses for tactical gear to avoid shipment delays at the border.

Focus on Tiered Pricing based on volume; for military orders, a jump from 500 to 2,000 units can often reduce the unit price by 15-20%. Negotiate for spare parts (extra buttons, zippers, and fabric patches) to be included at no cost. For long-term contracts, request a fixed price agreement for 12 months to protect your margins against fluctuations in raw material costs like cotton or synthetic fibers.

Utilize Secured Payment services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. It is highly recommended to hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Final Random Inspection (FRI) before the container is sealed. This inspection should focus on stitching density (SPI), measurement tolerance (+/- 1cm), and needle detection tests to ensure no broken needles remain in the garments.

For large volumes, Sea Freight (FCL or LCL) is the most economical choice, though it requires a lead time of 30-45 days. If you are restocking for a specific season, consider Sea-Air combined transport to balance cost and speed. Ensure the supplier uses heavy-duty, moisture-proof cartons and vacuum packaging if possible, which can reduce the shipping volume by up to 30%, significantly lowering your freight costs.
