Matcha tea set manufacturers

A standard commercial-grade set must include a Chawan (Ceramic Bowl), a Chasen (Bamboo Whisk), a Chashaku (Bamboo Scoop), and a Kusenaoshi (Whisk Holder). For high-end retail, look for sets that also include a fine-mesh stainless steel sifter to prevent clumping, which is a key technical requirement for a smooth beverage texture.

The Chawan should be made of lead-free, food-grade ceramic or porcelain fired at high temperatures to ensure heat resistance and prevent cracking. The Chasen must be crafted from sustainable, chemical-free bamboo; specifically, look for a high prong count (80-120 tines) for better aeration and froth quality. Ensure all wooden components comply with FDA or LFGB food contact standards.

Check for structural integrity and elasticity of the tines. High-quality whisks feature hand-curled tips that are uniform in shape. In a B2B context, verify that the bamboo has been properly seasoned and dried to prevent mold growth during long-term sea freight and storage in humid warehouses.

Since these are food-contact materials, you must ensure the supplier provides CCIC or SGS test reports. For the US market, FDA 21 CFR compliance is mandatory. For the European market, EU Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 regarding materials intended to come into contact with food is required. Always request a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) for the glazes used on ceramic bowls.

The two main risks are fragility and moisture. Ceramics are prone to breakage, so you must insist on drop-test certified packaging (double-walled corrugated boxes with molded pulp or EPE foam inserts). Bamboo is organic and susceptible to mold or pest infestation; ensure the supplier provides a Fumigation Certificate and includes desiccant silica gel packs in every individual unit box.

Focus on Total Landed Cost rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for customized packaging (OEM) at lower MOQs to increase your brand value. Ask for a tiered pricing structure where the price drops by 10-15% when moving from 500 to 2,000 units. Additionally, request Trade Assurance to secure your payment until the goods pass a third-party pre-shipment inspection.

For small trial orders (under 100kg), Air Express (DHL/FedEx) is fastest but expensive. For standard B2B inventory replenishment, Sea Freight (LCL - Less than Container Load) is the most economical. If shipping to the US or Europe, consider Matson Fast Ship or Rail Freight as a middle-ground option that balances cost and lead time (approx. 20-30 days).

Prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com who have undergone on-site verification by independent agencies like SGS or TÜV Rheinland. Review their Business License, check their export history, and request a factory walk-through via video call to inspect their quality control (QC) line and raw material storage conditions.
