Lingerie night gown manufacturers

Prioritize fabrics that balance aesthetics with skin comfort. Silk (16-22 momme) is the gold standard for luxury, while satin-weave polyester offers a cost-effective alternative with high durability. For lace components, ensure they are soft-hand feel nylon or cotton-blend lace to avoid skin irritation. Always verify the fabric weight (GSM) to ensure the garment is not overly sheer unless intended, and check for colorfastness (Grade 4 or higher) to prevent dye bleeding during washing.

Ensure all products comply with OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, which guarantees the absence of harmful substances. For the US market, compliance with CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) regulations regarding flammability (16 CFR Part 1610) is mandatory. For European markets, adherence to REACH regulations for chemical dyes is required. Additionally, check for BSCI or Sedex audit reports to ensure the supplier follows ethical manufacturing practices.

Focus on the Stitches Per Inch (SPI); high-end lingerie typically features 12-14 SPI for refined seams. Inspect for French seams or overlock stitching to prevent fraying. Pay close attention to adjustable hardware (sliders and rings), which should be zinc alloy or coated metal rather than cheap plastic to prevent breakage. For embroidered pieces, ensure there is a soft backing to protect the wearer's skin.

A capable supplier should offer tech pack development, private labeling, and custom lace pattern design. Look for manufacturers that provide size grading services to ensure fit consistency across XS to Plus Size ranges. Professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com often provide low MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) for trial orders, allowing you to test specific designs before committing to bulk production.

Always request a Pre-Production Sample (PPS) before the bulk run begins. For large orders, hire a third-party inspection service (like V-Trust or QIMA) to perform a During Production Check (DUPRO) and a Final Random Inspection (FRI). This ensures the final goods match the approved sample in terms of fabric feel, sizing, and stitching quality.

Do not negotiate on price alone, as this often leads to suppliers using substandard fabrics or cheaper dyes. Instead, negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), including packaging, labeling, and lead times. Discuss tiered pricing where the unit cost drops as your volume increases, and ask for favorable payment terms (e.g., 30% deposit / 70% after inspection) once a trust relationship is established.

Lingerie is lightweight but high-value. Use vacuum packaging to reduce volumetric weight and shipping costs, but ensure the fabric is not prone to permanent creasing. For high-end silk gowns, use individual polybags with silica gel desiccant to prevent moisture damage and mold during sea freight. For urgent seasonal launches, Air Freight is recommended due to the high value-to-weight ratio of the product.

Conduct all transactions through secure payment channels and use the Secured Trading services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your funds until delivery. To protect your designs, sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before sharing tech packs and ensure your brand is trademarked in the manufacturing country to prevent unauthorized production of your designs.
