I have found results from3000+products and1000+suppliers aboutLeather measuring machine
When sourcing a leather measuring machine, prioritize measurement accuracy (typically ±1%) and effective working width, which should match your largest hides (common widths range from 1800mm to 3200mm). Ensure the machine utilizes high-precision infrared or ultrasonic sensors for non-contact measurement to prevent hide deformation. For high-volume operations, check the conveyor speed (adjustable up to 30m/min) and the integration of an automatic stamping or labeling system to mark the area directly on the leather.
Verify that the equipment carries the CE Marking for safety and electromagnetic compatibility, especially for the European market. For the US, look for UL-listed components. It is critical to ensure the machine's software complies with OIML (International Organization of Legal Metrology) R79 standards, which govern the measurement of area for trade. Request an ISO 9001 certification from the manufacturer to guarantee consistent production quality and calibration reliability.
The machine should feature a PLC-based control system with a user-friendly interface (HMI). Essential software capabilities include real-time data logging, the ability to export data via USB or RS232/485 ports, and compatibility with ERP/MES systems for inventory management. Advanced models offer defect marking integration, allowing the machine to record not just the total area but also the location of usable vs. waste zones.
Due to the precision nature of the sensors, look for suppliers providing remote diagnostic support and a comprehensive calibration kit. Ensure the supplier offers a minimum 12-month warranty and maintains a stock of wear-and-tear parts like conveyor belts and sensor glass. Ask for video installation guides or on-site commissioning services, as improper leveling during setup can lead to significant measurement errors.
Always mandate a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) conducted by a third-party agency like SGS or Intertek. Request a video of the actual unit performing a calibration test with a standard reference sheet before final payment. Use secure payment methods and consider platforms like Made-in-China.com, which offer Secured Trading services to ensure your funds are protected until the shipping documents are verified.
Focus on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the sticker price. Negotiate for extra spare parts (sensors, belts, fuses) to be included in the initial package. For bulk orders or high-value equipment, request staged payment terms (e.g., 30% deposit, 60% after inspection, 10% after successful installation). Clearly define the Incoterms (e.g., CIF or DAP) to avoid hidden local port charges.
Leather measuring machines are sensitive to vibration and moisture. Insist on vacuum-sealed plastic wrapping and seaworthy wooden crate packaging (IPPC heat-treated). Ensure the machine is bolted to the base of the crate to prevent shifting. For long-distance sea freight, include desiccant silica gel packs inside the wrapping to prevent corrosion of electronic components due to sea air.
Confirm the correct HS Code (typically 903180) with your customs broker to determine accurate duty rates. Ensure the manufacturer provides a detailed Packing List, Commercial Invoice, and Certificate of Origin. If the machine includes a computer or specialized software, verify if any import licenses for dual-use technology are required in your specific country to avoid customs seizures.
