Jewellery box manufacturers

The exterior should be crafted from durable materials such as MDF with wood veneer, high-grade PU leather, or solid wood (walnut/cherry) to ensure structural integrity. Crucially, the interior lining must be anti-tarnish velvet or microfiber to prevent chemical reactions that cause oxidation on silver and gold items. For luxury segments, prioritize high-gloss piano lacquer finishes which offer superior aesthetic appeal and scratch resistance.

A professional jewellery box must feature modular compartments to accommodate diverse inventory. Ensure the design includes dedicated ring rolls, earring cards with pre-punched holes, and necklace hooks with catch-all pouches to prevent tangling. For travel-specific lines, look for compact, lightweight designs with secure zip-around closures or magnetic snaps that pass drop tests without internal contents shifting.

Suppliers must comply with REACH (EU) or CPSIA (US) regulations, specifically regarding lead and phthalate content in faux leather and adhesives. If the box includes a mirror, it must be shatter-proof or tempered glass to meet shipping safety standards. For wooden products, verify FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification to ensure sustainable sourcing, and ensure all glues used are low-VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) to avoid 'new box' odors that can linger on jewellery.

Top-tier manufacturers on Made-in-China.com should offer logo embossing, debossing, or hot-stamping services. Evaluate their ability to provide custom hardware (hinges and locks) in specific finishes like brushed gold or gunmetal. Request CAD drawings or 3D prototypes before mass production to verify that the clearance between drawers is consistent (ideally <1mm) and that drawers operate smoothly without sticking.

Jewellery boxes are prone to corner crushing and surface scratches. Insist on 5-ply corrugated export cartons and ensure each unit is protected by a soft EPE foam wrap and a custom-fit inner box. For high-gloss finishes, a protective film must be applied to the surface. Request a ISTA 1A drop test report from the supplier to confirm the packaging can withstand the rigors of cross-border logistics.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate based on volume tiers; for example, increasing an order from 500 to 1,000 units can often reduce costs by 15-20%. Discuss payment terms such as a 30% deposit and 70% balance after a third-party pre-shipment inspection (PSI). This ensures the supplier maintains quality standards throughout the production run.

Check the HS Code (typically 4202.92 or 4420.90) for your specific material to determine import duties in your country. Be mindful of Anti-Dumping Duties that may apply to certain wooden or paper-based products in specific regions. Always request a Certificate of Origin (CO) from your supplier on Made-in-China.com to potentially leverage Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and reduce your tax burden.

Utilize Secured Trading Services offered by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your payments. Conduct a factory audit or hire a local inspection agency to verify the supplier's business license and production capacity. Avoid wire transfers to private bank accounts; always ensure the beneficiary name matches the company name on the proforma invoice.
