Ice cream mixing tank manufacturers

For food safety and longevity, the tank must be constructed from Food Grade Stainless Steel (SUS304 or SUS316L). The internal surface should have a mirror polish (Ra < 0.4μm) to prevent bacterial growth. Ensure the design complies with 3A, FDA, or EHEDG standards, featuring CIP (Clean-in-Place) spray balls for automated, thorough cleaning without disassembly.

Ice cream mix requires precise temperature control for pasteurization and aging. You should choose between Dimple Jackets, Full Jackets, or Coil Jackets based on your media (steam, hot water, or glycol). Ensure the tank has high-density polyurethane foam insulation to maintain temperature stability and reduce energy consumption. For high-efficiency heat transfer, triple-layer structures are recommended.

The agitator must be capable of handling high-viscosity mixes. Look for high-shear emulsifiers if you need to blend powders (like milk solids and stabilizers) into liquids, or anchor/paddle agitators with scrapers to prevent the mix from burning on the tank walls during heating. Specify a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) to adjust mixing speeds between 36 to 3000 RPM depending on the processing stage.

To ensure batch consistency, prioritize tanks equipped with PLC control systems (e.g., Siemens or Schneider) and PT100 temperature sensors. Essential monitoring components include digital level sensors, pressure manometers, and sight glasses with LED lights. Integration with a centralized control room via RS485 or Ethernet interfaces is vital for large-scale industrial operations.

Always mandate a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) by third-party agencies like SGS or Intertek. Request a FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) video showing the tank holding pressure and the agitator running smoothly. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Conformity (CE) and detailed MTC (Material Test Certificates) for the steel used to avoid low-quality substitutes.

Focus on the component brand list rather than just the total price; specify brands for motors (e.g., ABB, SEW) and electronics. Negotiate a 10% performance bond or retention payment to be released only after successful installation and commissioning. For bulk orders, leverage Made-in-China.com's Diamond Member status to identify verified manufacturers with audited production lines.

Due to the bulkiness of mixing tanks, use FR (Flat Rack) containers or OT (Open Top) containers for units exceeding standard dimensions. Ensure the tank is secured with vacuum packaging and wooden crates to prevent sea salt corrosion. Confirm if the supplier provides overseas installation guidance or detailed English-language operation manuals and foundation drawings for your local engineering team.

Utilize Secured Trading Services provided by reputable B2B platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your deposit. Avoid paying 100% upfront; a standard 30/70 T/T payment structure (30% deposit, 70% against BL copy) is common. For high-value custom lines, consider a Letter of Credit (L/C) to ensure payment is only released upon meeting specific documentation and quality milestones.
