Hp elitebook keyboard manufacturers

Compatibility is the most critical factor. You must verify the exact HP Spare Part Number (SPS), which is usually found on the white label under the original keyboard. Additionally, confirm the ribbon cable orientation and connector width, as different generations (e.g., G1 to G8) of the same model series often use incompatible interfaces. Always check if the keyboard is Backlit or Non-Backlit, as the motherboard must have the corresponding secondary connector to support the backlight function.

Focus on the key travel distance (typically 1.3mm to 1.5mm) and actuation force to ensure the typing experience matches the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards. For the frame, prioritize aluminum alloy or high-grade ABS plastic to prevent flexing. Ensure the UV coating on the keycaps is of high quality to prevent the letters from wearing off under heavy office use, and verify that the pointing stick (TrackPoint), if present, is fully functional and calibrated.

For international trade, the product must adhere to RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) to ensure it is free from lead and mercury. For the US market, FCC certification is standard for electronic peripherals, while the CE mark is mandatory for the European Union. If you are sourcing for government or corporate contracts, ensure the supplier provides UL 94V-0 flame retardancy certification for the plastic components.

Original New keyboards are sourced from HP's authorized production lines and offer the highest reliability. OEM (Third-party) keyboards are compatible replacements; while cheaper, you must check the responsiveness of the keys and the texture of the plastic. Refurbished units should be avoided for bulk B2B orders unless clearly stated, as they often have uneven backlight brightness or weakened internal membrane domes.

The primary risk is Language Layout Mismatch. Ensure you specify the layout (e.g., US English, UK English, QWERTZ, or AZERTY) in writing, as a single wrong key can make the batch unsellable. Another risk is shipping damage; keyboards are thin and fragile, so require anti-static bags and rigid individual cardboard packaging to prevent bending or ribbon cable snapping during transit.

Request a tiered pricing structure based on volume (e.g., 100, 500, 1000 units). Ask for a 0.5% to 1% defect allowance or extra units to be included in the shipment to cover potential DOA (Dead on Arrival) items. Always negotiate for a warranty period of at least 6 to 12 months, and confirm that the supplier will cover the shipping costs for replacing defective units found during initial QC.

Always use Secured Trading Services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure your payment is held in escrow until delivery is confirmed. Before placing a large order, request a factory audit or a video inspection of the production line. For the first batch, it is highly recommended to hire a third-party inspection service (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a random sampling test on key functionality and layout accuracy before the balance payment is made.

For small batches (under 50kg), Air Express (DHL/FedEx/UPS) is best for speed and tracking. For larger wholesale volumes, consider Air Freight to a local forwarder to balance cost and time. Ensure the HS Code (typically 8471.60) is correctly declared on the commercial invoice to avoid customs delays and ensure the correct duty rates are applied. Always include a detailed packing list that specifies the model compatibility for each box.
