Honey bottle manufacturers

When selecting honey bottles, the choice between BPA-free plastic (PET) and Glass is critical. PET plastic is lightweight, shatterproof, and cost-effective for shipping, making it ideal for squeeze-bottle designs. Glass bottles are preferred for premium branding as they are non-reactive, 100% recyclable, and provide a superior oxygen barrier to preserve the honey's flavor and prevent crystallization over long periods.

Honey has a high viscosity but can leak during temperature fluctuations. Ensure the bottles feature induction foil seals or pressure-sensitive liners to guarantee freshness and provide tamper-evidence. For squeeze bottles, look for silicone cross-slit valves in the cap to ensure a 'no-drip' experience and precise portion control.

As a food contact material, honey bottles must comply with international safety standards. Ensure the supplier provides FDA (U.S.), LFGB (Germany/EU), or EU 10/2011 certifications. It is vital to verify that the manufacturer holds an ISO 22000 or HACCP certification to ensure the production environment meets food safety management protocols.

Honey is sensitive to UV light, which can degrade its enzymes. For long-term storage, consider amber-colored glass or UV-coated plastics. Additionally, the wide-mouth design is preferable for thicker, crystallized honey to allow easy access, while hexagonal or square shapes optimize pallet space and reduce shipping costs by up to 15% compared to round bottles.

Fragile items like glass honey bottles require 5-layer corrugated export cartons and individual cell dividers. Request the supplier to perform a ISTA 1A drop test before shipment. For large orders, palletization with stretch wrapping is mandatory to prevent shifting in the container.

Focus on mold ownership and customization costs. If you require a unique bottle shape, negotiate for the mold fee to be refunded once your cumulative order volume reaches a certain threshold (e.g., 50,000 units). Always request pre-production samples to test the thread fit between the cap and the bottle.

Utilize secure payment terms and consider third-party inspections (like SGS or Intertek) before the final balance payment. For reliable sourcing, platforms like Made-in-China.com offer verified supplier profiles and Audit Reports that detail the factory's production capacity and quality control systems.

Ensure the HS Code (typically 7010.90 for glass or 3923.30 for plastic) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays. Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties that some countries impose on glass containers from specific regions. Always clarify the Incoterms (e.g., FOB or CIF) to understand exactly where your liability for the goods begins.
