Handheld gold detector manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize Operating Frequency, as gold is best detected at higher frequencies (typically 18kHz to 71kHz). Look for Ground Balance capabilities—specifically Automatic and Manual Ground Tracking—to filter out mineralization in soil. Additionally, ensure the device features Discrimination Modes to distinguish between gold and ferrous metals like iron, and a Waterproof Search Coil (IP68 rating) for use in creeks or wet environments.

Request Air Test and In-Ground Test reports from the supplier. Sensitivity should be adjustable to handle different nugget sizes; for small flakes, a Pulse Induction (PI) system is often superior to Very Low Frequency (VLF) for depth in highly mineralized ground. Ensure the supplier provides Sensitivity Threshold settings that allow for fine-tuning in noisy electrical environments.

For the US market, FCC Certification is mandatory to ensure the radio frequencies do not interfere with other communications. For the EU, CE Marking and RoHS compliance (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) are essential. If the unit includes high-capacity lithium batteries, a UN38.3 Test Report and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) are required for air and sea freight safety.

The unit should be lightweight (under 1.5kg) with an adjustable telescopic shaft to prevent operator fatigue. For long-duration sourcing, prioritize models with Rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries offering at least 15-20 hours of continuous operation. Check if the LCD screen has a backlight for low-light conditions and high-contrast visibility for direct sunlight.

Always verify the supplier's Business License and ISO 9001 certification on Made-in-China.com. Request a Live Video Factory Audit to see the testing equipment. Avoid 'unbranded' units that claim extreme depths (e.g., 10+ meters) at suspiciously low prices, as these are often simple metal detectors rebranded as gold-specific units without the necessary circuitry.

Focus on Sample-to-Bulk conversion terms. Negotiate a Sample Refund Policy where the cost of the initial unit is deducted from a bulk order of 50+ units. Ask for Spare Parts (2-3% extra coils or battery covers) to be included in the initial shipment to handle immediate after-sales needs without international shipping delays.

Ensure the use of Anti-Static Packaging and Double-Walled Corrugated Boxes with foam inserts. Since these devices contain sensitive sensors, specify 'Fragile' labeling and request Vacuum-Sealed Moisture Barriers if shipping via sea freight to prevent corrosion from salt air. For units with built-in batteries, use Specialized Battery Logistics Channels to avoid customs seizures.

Utilize Secured Payment Services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. Hire a Third-Party Inspection Agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI), specifically checking the Frequency Stability and Target ID Accuracy of a random 5% sample of the total order.
