Glass water sets manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize Borosilicate Glass over standard soda-lime glass, as it offers superior thermal shock resistance (withstanding temperatures from -20°C to 150°C). For luxury markets, Lead-free Crystal is preferred for its high refractive index and clarity. Ensure the glass thickness is uniform, typically between 2mm to 3mm, to balance durability with aesthetic elegance.

Since these products contact food, they must meet FDA (US) or LFGB (Germany/EU) food-grade certifications. Specifically, they must pass Lead and Cadmium leaching tests (ASTM C738-94). For sets including bamboo or wooden lids, ensure they have FSC certification and are treated with food-safe anti-mold coatings.

Look for ergonomic handle designs that remain cool to the touch and non-drip V-shaped spouts for precise pouring. Sets featuring integrated stainless steel filters in the lid are highly sought after for fruit-infused water or tea. Additionally, verify if the sets are dishwasher safe and microwave safe, as these are critical selling points for modern consumers.

Request information on the annealing process, which relieves internal stress in the glass to prevent spontaneous breakage. Check for visual defects such as bubbles, stones, or mold marks, which should be non-existent in A-grade exports. A reliable supplier on Made-in-China.com should provide third-party inspection reports (like SGS or Intertek) covering rim impact and thermal shock testing.

Glassware requires 5-layer corrugated outer cartons and individual EPE foam or bubble wrap packaging for each component. Specify a Drop Test (ISTA 1A or 2A) requirement in your contract. For bulk sea freight, ensure the use of pallets with plastic wrap to minimize manual handling shocks and moisture exposure.

Focus on MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) flexibility for customized decals or color boxes; many suppliers accept lower MOQs if you use standard glass molds. Negotiate for a 1-3% breakage allowance or spare units included in the shipment to cover potential transit damage. Always request a pre-production sample to lock in the glass clarity and weight standards.

Utilize the Secured Trading Service on Made-in-China.com to ensure payments are only released after shipping documents are verified. Prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone on-site inspections of their production lines and quality control systems. Verify the supplier's export license specifically for glassware to avoid customs delays.

Be aware of Anti-dumping duties that some regions (like the EU) may impose on specific types of Chinese glassware. Check the HS Code (typically 7013.37) against your local tariff schedule. To optimize costs, consider FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain control over shipping rates, especially during peak logistics seasons.
