Flatbed trike manufacturers

When sourcing a flatbed trike, prioritize the load capacity, which typically ranges from 300kg to 1000kg for heavy-duty models. Ensure the motor power (for electric versions) is at least 800W to 1500W to handle inclines. The flatbed dimensions should be customizable to your specific cargo needs, and the chassis must be constructed from reinforced carbon steel with anti-corrosion coating to ensure long-term structural integrity.

For electric models, choose between Lead-acid batteries (cost-effective) or Lithium-ion batteries (longer lifespan and faster charging). A high-quality trike should offer a range of 60-100km per charge. Verify that the battery management system (BMS) includes overcharge and short-circuit protection. For B2B buyers, a charging cycle life of ≥800 cycles is a critical benchmark for ROI.

Ensure the supplier provides CE certification for European markets or DOT/EPA compliance for the US. Key safety features must include a dual braking system (front drum and rear hydraulic disc brakes), LED lighting systems for visibility, and speed limiters to comply with local urban transport regulations. For industrial use, check for ISO 9001 manufacturing standards.

Look for heavy-duty leaf spring suspension in the rear to absorb shocks under full loads. Tires should be vacuum puncture-resistant tires or deep-tread off-road tires if used on uneven terrain. Request salt spray test reports for the metal components if the trike will be operated in coastal or humid environments.

Flatbed trikes are bulky; to save on freight, request SKD (Semi-Knocked Down) or CKD (Completely Knocked Down) packaging. This can increase container utilization by 30-50%. Ensure the supplier uses fumigated wooden crates or reinforced steel frames for packaging to prevent compression damage during sea transit.

Utilize Secured Trading Services on platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure payment is only released upon confirmation of shipment. Always conduct a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) via a third party (like SGS or Intertek) to verify that the technical specifications and quantities match the Proforma Invoice before the final balance is paid.

Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Ask for tiered pricing (e.g., discounts of 5-10% for 20ft GP containers). You can also negotiate for 2-3% free wear-and-tear spare parts (such as brake pads, bulbs, and tires) to be included in the bulk order, which reduces future maintenance costs.

Verify the HS Code (typically under 8704 for motor vehicles for transport of goods) with your customs broker to calculate Anti-Dumping Duties or specific tariffs. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin (CO) to take advantage of any Free Trade Agreements (FTA) that might reduce import taxes in your country.
