Fiber cleaver blade price manufacturers

The most critical factor is the tungsten steel (cemented carbide) grade used, which dictates the blade's hardness and wear resistance. A high-quality blade should offer 12 to 24 rotating positions, with each position capable of performing 1,000 to 3,000 clean breaks, totaling an expected lifespan of 36,000 to 50,000 cleaves. Additionally, the cleave angle consistency must be maintained at less than 0.5 degrees to ensure low insertion loss during fusion splicing.

Buyers must confirm the outer diameter, inner bore diameter, and thickness of the blade. Common dimensions include 20mm or 22mm diameters. It is essential to check if the blade is designed for specific brands like Sumitomo, Fujikura, or CT-series cleavers. Always request a compatibility chart from the supplier to ensure the center hole alignment matches your tool's screw mechanism.

A professional-grade blade must produce a mirror-like end-face without chips, lips, or cracks. The surface roughness should be minimal to prevent air gaps during splicing. When sourcing, ask for interferometer test reports or sample images of the fiber end-face after a cleave to validate the blade's precision.

Prioritize suppliers with ISO 9001 certification for manufacturing consistency. Since these are precision components, ensure the products meet RoHS standards for hazardous substances. For high-end telecommunications projects, the blades should support fibers that meet ITU-T G.652 or G.657 standards.

The primary risk in this category is the use of recycled alloy instead of virgin tungsten steel. To mitigate this, use Made-in-China.com's 'Audited Supplier' reports to verify the factory's production capacity. Request a hardness test certificate (HRA/HRC) and start with a small sample order to test the blade's performance over the first 500 cleaves before committing to bulk volume.

Fiber cleaver blades are small and high-value; therefore, tiered pricing is standard. Negotiate based on annual volume rather than a single order to secure a 15-25% discount. For MOQs, many suppliers on Made-in-China.com offer low entry points (e.g., 5-10 pieces), but you should push for free shipping or spare units if ordering more than 100 pieces.

Due to their small size and sensitivity to impact, blades should be shipped via Express Air (DHL, FedEx, or UPS) to ensure tracking and minimize handling time. Ensure the supplier uses anti-static, shock-proof plastic casing for each individual blade to prevent edge chipping during transit. For international trade, specify DAP or door-to-door terms to simplify customs clearance for small parcels.

Always conduct transactions through secure payment channels provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com, which offer escrow-like protection. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts. Ensure the Proforma Invoice (PI) clearly states the blade lifespan guarantee and the return policy for defective units that fail to meet the specified cleave angle.
