Etpu-ball manufacturers

ETPU (Expanded Thermoplastic Polyurethane) offers superior high-resilience (rebound rate up to 60-70%), which provides excellent energy return. Unlike EVA, ETPU is highly durable, resistant to compression set, and maintains flexibility across a wide temperature range (-20°C to 40°C). For B2B buyers, this means a longer product lifecycle and lower return rates due to deformation.

Buyers should focus on density (typically 0.15-0.25g/cm³) to balance weight and bounce. Ensure the surface skin integrity is high to prevent peeling. For safety, verify that the product is BPA-free and non-toxic, especially if intended for children or pets. Request tensile strength and tear resistance reports to ensure the ball can withstand high-impact usage.

For the US market, products must comply with ASTM F963 (Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Toy Safety) and CPSIA regulations. For the EU, EN71 (Parts 1, 2, and 3) certification is essential to ensure mechanical, physical, and chemical safety. Additionally, ensure the material meets REACH and RoHS standards to guarantee the absence of hazardous substances like phthalates.

Request a rebound test video and a compression recovery report from the supplier. It is recommended to ask for samples to perform a 'bite test' or 'abrasion test' if the balls are for pet toys. Check if the supplier uses steam-chest molding technology, which ensures better bead fusion and a smoother finish compared to cheaper adhesive-based methods.

The primary risk is material substitution, where suppliers may mix ETPU with cheaper TPU or EVA scraps to lower costs, resulting in poor bounce. Another risk is inconsistent bead expansion, leading to weight variances. To mitigate this, use Trade Fulfillment services on Made-in-China.com and insist on a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify weight and bounce consistency.

ETPU production requires specific molds; therefore, custom shapes or sizes usually involve a tooling fee ($500-$2,000). For standard round balls, negotiate a tiered pricing structure where the unit price drops by 10-15% when reaching the 5,000-unit threshold. If you are a new buyer, suggest a sample order or a lower 'Trial MOQ' to validate market response before committing to a full container.

Since ETPU-balls are lightweight but high-volume (cargo 'volumetric weight'), shipping costs can be high. Use vacuum compression packaging if the ball design allows, or opt for bulk polybag packing instead of individual retail boxes to maximize container utilization. For international trade, FOB (Free On Board) is generally preferred as it allows the buyer to control the freight forwarder and optimize the shipping route to their specific country.

Always verify the supplier's Business License and Export Qualification on the platform. Prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com who have undergone third-party onsite inspections by SGS or TÜV Rheinland. Use Secured Payment methods that hold funds in escrow until the Bill of Lading (B/L) is confirmed, ensuring your capital is protected against non-delivery.
