Enamel pins manufacturers

The choice depends on the desired brand positioning. Hard Enamel pins are polished flat, offering a premium, jewelry-like finish and higher durability, making them ideal for high-end retail or corporate branding. Soft Enamel pins have recessed enamel and raised metal edges, providing a textured 3D look; they are more cost-effective and popular for promotional giveaways or fan merchandise.

Ensure the base material is Zinc Alloy (best for complex 3D shapes) or Iron/Brass (traditional for die-struck pins). For the plating, specify a thickness of at least 0.05mm to prevent tarnishing. Request lead-free and nickel-free materials to ensure the products are skin-friendly and meet international safety standards.

For the US market, products must comply with the CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act), especially regarding lead content in coatings. For the EU, adherence to REACH regulations and EN71-3 (Safety of Toys) is essential if the pins are marketed as collectibles or accessories. Always request third-party lab test reports from suppliers on Made-in-China.com.

Always use the Pantone Matching System (PMS) to define colors. Do not rely on digital mockups as screen calibrations vary. Require the supplier to provide a pre-production sample (PPS) for physical color approval. Professional manufacturers will use manual color filling followed by high-temperature firing to ensure color consistency.

Enamel pins often involve custom designs. Ensure you own the copyrights or have licensing for the artwork. When sourcing from Made-in-China.com, look for Audited Suppliers and sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to prevent your unique designs from being sold to other buyers or listed publicly.

Focus on the Mold Fee and Unit Price separately. For large orders (e.g., >500 units), negotiate to have the mold fee waived. Ask for tiered pricing (e.g., 100, 500, 1000 units) to understand the scalability. Additionally, request free backing cards or specialized packaging as a value-add during negotiations.

Use secure payment methods such as Escrow services or Trade Assurance provided by reputable platforms. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts. Ensure the Proforma Invoice (PI) clearly states the product specifications, lead time, and refund policy for defective items (typically a 1-3% defect allowance is standard).

Since enamel pins are small but heavy, Air Express (DHL/FedEx/UPS) is usually the most efficient for orders under 50kg, offering door-to-door delivery in 3-7 days. For bulk orders exceeding 100kg, consider Air Freight or LCL (Less than Container Load) Sea Freight to significantly reduce the landed cost per unit.
