Dried flowers manufacturers

When evaluating dried flowers, prioritize color retention and structural integrity. High-quality specimens should undergo professional dehydration processes (such as silica gel drying or freeze-drying) to ensure they are not brittle. Check for uniformity in petal shape and ensure there are no signs of mold, pests, or moisture, which can compromise an entire shipment.

For B2B buyers, preserved flowers (immortal flowers) are often superior to standard air-dried varieties. These are treated with glycerin and other plant-based chemicals to maintain a supple, fresh-like texture for 1-3 years. If sourcing for crafts, ensure the dyeing agents used are non-toxic and eco-friendly, meeting international safety standards.

As plant-based products, dried flowers are subject to strict Phytosanitary Regulations. You must ensure the supplier can provide a Phytosanitary Certificate issued by their national plant protection organization. Additionally, verify compliance with CITES if sourcing exotic species, and ensure the products meet REACH (EU) or FHSA (US) standards regarding chemical dyes and preservatives.

To optimize costs, calculate the volumetric weight rather than just actual weight, as dried flowers are lightweight but bulky. Seek suppliers on Made-in-China.com who offer vacuum packaging or high-density stacking to reduce shipping volumes. Aim for bulk discounts of 20-35% for orders exceeding 500kg or 1,000 bouquets.

The biggest risks are moisture damage and physical breakage. Ensure your contract specifies the use of desiccants (silica packets) in every carton and five-layer corrugated export boxes with internal cushioning. For high-value preserved roses, individual acrylic or acetate boxes are recommended to prevent crushing during transit.

Dried flower prices often peak during Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and the Christmas season. To secure stable pricing, enter into annual supply agreements during the harvest off-season (typically summer). Negotiate a fixed price tier based on projected annual volume to avoid the 20-50% price surges seen in Q4.

Always utilize Secured Trading Services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until delivery is confirmed. For large orders, insist on a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) by a third party like SGS to verify that the moisture content is below 10% and the species match the invoice.

For North America and Europe, sea freight is cost-effective for bulk decor items, but Air Freight is preferred for high-end preserved flowers to minimize the time spent in humid port environments. Ensure the Incoterms are clearly defined (e.g., CIF or DDP), and confirm the supplier has experience with Customs Clearance for agricultural by-products to avoid lengthy quarantine delays.
