Custom safety glasses manufacturers

When sourcing safety glasses, compliance is non-negotiable. You must ensure products meet ANSI Z87.1 (USA), EN 166 (Europe), or AS/NZS 1337 (Australia/New Zealand). These standards dictate impact resistance, optical quality, and coverage areas. For specialized environments, look for Z87+ markings indicating high-velocity impact protection and UV400 certification for 99.9% ultraviolet filtration.

The core material should be high-grade Polycarbonate, known for its lightweight properties and superior impact resistance compared to glass or CR-39. For customization, prioritize Anti-Fog (AF) coatings for high-humidity environments and Anti-Scratch (HC) hard coatings to extend product lifespan in abrasive settings. If your buyers work outdoors, polarized or photochromic lenses are critical for glare reduction.

Professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com typically offer OEM/ODM services including pad-printed logos on the temples, custom frame colors (Pantone matched), and bespoke packaging (microfiber pouches or hard cases). For technical customization, you can request adjustable nose pads, telescoping temples, or prescription (RX) inserts to accommodate workers who wear corrective lenses.

Request samples to test for flexibility and stress-crack resistance. Frames made of TR90 or reinforced nylon offer better durability than cheap PVC. Ensure the hinge mechanism (screw-in vs. snap-fit) can withstand at least 5,000 cycles of opening and closing. For 'Over-the-Glass' (OTG) styles, verify the internal dimensions to ensure they fit comfortably over standard optical frames without pressure points.

The biggest risk is non-compliance with local PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) regulations, which can lead to customs seizures or legal liability. Mitigate this by requesting valid test reports from accredited third-party labs (like SGS, TUV, or Intertek) rather than just factory-issued certificates. Use Trade Resources on Made-in-China.com to verify the supplier's export history and business license validity.

Standard MOQs for custom colors usually range from 1,000 to 3,000 pieces. To lower costs, negotiate a tiered pricing structure where the unit price drops by 5-10% as volume doubles. If you are a startup, ask for 'neutral packaging' with a logo sticker instead of full silk-screen printing to reduce the initial MOQ requirements.

Safety glasses are prone to scratching and crushing. Ensure the contract specifies double-walled corrugated export cartons and that each unit is individually wrapped in a polybag or bubble sleeve. For shipping to the US or EU, ensure the Country of Origin (e.g., Made in China) is permanently marked on the product or packaging to comply with customs entry requirements.

Always utilize Secured Payment services provided by the platform to ensure funds are only released after you confirm receipt of goods. For large orders, hire a third-party inspector to conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to check the AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) for lens clarity, coating thickness, and logo alignment before the final balance is paid.
