China microwave transformers manufacturers

When sourcing high-voltage transformers for microwave applications, you must prioritize Input/Output Voltage (typically 220V/240V input to 2000V+ output) and Power Rating (measured in Watts, e.g., 700W to 1500W). Ensure the Core Material uses high-quality silicon steel laminations to minimize eddy current losses. Additionally, verify the Insulation Class (Class H or R is preferred) to withstand operating temperatures up to 180°C or 220°C, ensuring long-term reliability in high-heat environments.

To ensure safety and legal entry into global markets, the transformers must carry UL (Underwriters Laboratories) or ETL certification for North America, and CE/GS marks for the European Union. Since these are high-voltage components, compliance with IEC 60335-2-25 (specific to microwave ovens) is critical. Furthermore, ensure the supplier provides RoHS and REACH declarations to confirm the absence of hazardous substances in the copper windings and insulation materials.

Distinguish between 100% Copper Windings and Copper-Clad Aluminum (CCA). While CCA is cheaper, pure copper offers superior conductivity and thermal stability. Request a Temperature Rise Test Report and a High-Pot (High Potential) Test to ensure the insulation can handle voltage spikes without breakdown. For B2B buyers, a Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) process is a key quality indicator, as it eliminates air pockets in the coils, preventing moisture ingress and vibration noise.

Microwave transformers are primarily used in Household Microwave Ovens, Industrial Drying Equipment, and UV Curing Systems. Compatibility depends on the Mounting Hole Dimensions and Terminal Types (e.g., 6.3mm spade connectors). If you are sourcing for repair or OEM manufacturing, provide the supplier with the Specific Brand Model or a Technical Drawing to ensure the physical footprint matches the appliance chassis.

The biggest risks are Substandard Insulation and Weight Fraud (using lighter, inferior cores). To mitigate this, use Made-in-China.com’s Secured Trading services and hire third-party inspectors like SGS or Intertek to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). They should specifically check the Dielectric Strength and verify that the product weight matches the approved sample, as weight is a direct proxy for the amount of copper and steel used.

Negotiate based on the LME (London Metal Exchange) Copper Price Index. Since raw material costs fluctuate, link your contract price to these benchmarks to avoid sudden surcharges. For bulk orders, request a Tiered Pricing Structure where a 10-15% discount is applied for volumes exceeding 2,000 units. Always demand a 12 to 24-month Warranty Period, which forces the supplier to take accountability for the component's lifespan.

Microwave transformers are heavy and contain fragile magnetic cores. Insist on Palletized Shipping with Reinforced Corrugated Cartons and internal foam bracing to prevent impact damage. Because they are magnetic, ensure the packaging complies with IATA Magnetic Shielding Regulations if shipping by air; otherwise, they may be rejected by airlines. For sea freight, use Desiccant Silica Gel Packs inside the moisture-proof lining to prevent rust on the steel laminations during transit.

Look for the 'Audited Supplier' badge on Made-in-China.com, which indicates the supplier has undergone a physical factory audit. Review their Business License to ensure their scope includes 'Manufacturing' rather than just 'Trading.' Check their Export History to see if they have experience shipping to your specific region, as this ensures they are familiar with your local customs requirements and voltage standards.
