China 2lt engine price manufacturers

When sourcing a 2LT engine (2.4L Turbo Diesel), you must distinguish between complete engine assemblies and long blocks. Key specs include the mechanical fuel injection system type, turbocharger model (typically CT20), and compression ratio (22.2:1). Ensure the engine meets OEM dimensions for mounting compatibility. Prices vary significantly based on whether the unit is brand new aftermarket, remanufactured, or used (low mileage).

Prioritize suppliers who provide ISO/TS 16949 certification, which is the gold standard for automotive quality management. Request cylinder pressure test reports and oil pressure stability data. For the 2LT specifically, check the cylinder head material; high-quality aftermarket versions often use reinforced aluminum alloy to prevent the common cracking issues associated with overheating in older designs.

The 2LT is an older engine design, typically meeting Euro I or Euro II standards. You must verify if your target country allows the import of non-electronic controlled diesel engines. For the US market, ensure compliance with EPA Clean Air Act requirements for replacement engines, or check if the engine is intended for off-road/stationary equipment which may have different regulatory hurdles.

A complete new 2LT engine typically ranges from $1,500 to $2,500 USD depending on the configuration, while a full rebuild kit is significantly cheaper. However, the labor cost and machining fees in many countries often make a pre-assembled long block from China more cost-effective. Buying a complete unit also reduces the risk of assembly errors and provides a unified warranty on all internal components.

The biggest risks are internal component substitution (using low-grade bearings or pistons) and shipping damage. To mitigate this, use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to ensure payment is only released after proof of inspection. Always request a video of the actual engine running on a test bench with a visible serial number before crating.

Focus on MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) and spare parts kits. If ordering 5+ units, negotiate for a 5-10% discount or the inclusion of free consumable kits (filters, gaskets, belts). Ask for FOB (Free On Board) pricing to maintain control over your shipping costs, and clarify the warranty period (ideally 12 months or 20,000km) and how claims are handled (e.g., parts replacement vs. credit).

Engines must be shipped in ISPM-15 compliant heat-treated wooden crates to pass customs. Ensure the engine is completely drained of all fluids (oil and coolant) to be classified as non-hazardous cargo. For shipping to regions like Africa or South America, utilize Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) to keep costs down, as the weight of a 2LT engine (approx. 230kg-250kg) makes air freight prohibitively expensive.

Look for the 'Audited Supplier' badge, which indicates the supplier has been verified by third-party institutions like SGS or Intertek. Check their Business License and Export License to ensure they are a manufacturer or a licensed trading company. Review their Transaction History and buyer feedback specifically for 'Engine' or 'Auto Parts' categories to gauge their expertise.
