Chilli paste manufacturers

When sourcing chilli paste, you must evaluate the Scoville Heat Units (SHU) to ensure heat consistency, the Brix value for thickness/sugar content, and the pH level (typically <4.6) to ensure shelf stability. High-quality paste should have a vibrant natural color without excessive artificial dyes and a uniform texture free from large seeds or stems unless specified.

To ensure consumer safety and smooth customs clearance, prioritize suppliers with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and ISO 22000 certifications. For specific markets, look for FDA registration (USA), BRC (British Retail Consortium), or GFSI-recognized standards. If targeting specific demographics, verify Halal or Kosher certifications.

Chilli paste is generally processed via hot-filling or aseptic packaging, which allows for a shelf life of 12 to 24 months at room temperature. For industrial buyers, fermented chilli paste offers a deeper umami profile but requires stricter control of microbiological counts (yeast and mold). Always request a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch to verify moisture levels and preservative limits.

Yes, most professional manufacturers on Made-in-China.com offer OEM/ODM services. You can request adjustments in oil content, salt concentration, and the addition of aromatics like garlic or ginger. Ensure you define the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) for custom recipes, which usually starts at 1-3 tons depending on the packaging format.

The biggest risks are mycotoxin contamination (specifically Aflatoxin) and illegal Sudan dye additives. You should mandate third-party laboratory testing (SGS or Intertek) before the balance payment is made. Additionally, ensure the labeling complies with the destination country’s laws, including ingredient breakdowns and allergen warnings.

Negotiate based on Total Landed Cost. Since chilli paste is heavy, sea freight in 20ft containers is the most economical. Ask for tiered pricing (e.g., 5-10 tons vs. full container load). For shipping, use FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain control over your logistics costs, and ensure the supplier uses heavy-duty UV-protected drums or vacuum-sealed BIB (Bag-in-Box) to prevent oxidation during transit.

Utilize Secured Trading Services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your funds. Never transfer full payments upfront to unverified accounts. Conduct a factory audit (virtual or third-party) to confirm the supplier has a clean-room production environment and adequate cold-chain or dry-storage facilities.

You must provide a Phytosanitary Certificate and a Health Certificate issued by the exporting country's authorities. Ensure the wooden pallets used for shipping are IPPC heat-treated (ISPM 15) to avoid quarantine delays. For the US market, ensure the supplier has a valid Prior Notice filed with the FDA before the shipment arrives.
