Ce floor tiles granite manufacturers

When selecting granite floor tiles, you must prioritize Mohs hardness (ideally 6-7) to ensure scratch resistance and water absorption rates (should be <0.4%) to prevent staining and frost damage. For high-traffic areas, verify the compressive strength (minimum 100 MPa) and flexural strength to ensure the tiles can withstand heavy loads without cracking. Additionally, specify the thickness tolerance (typically ±1mm or ±0.5mm for premium grades) to ensure a level installation.

CE marking is mandatory for natural stone flooring. You must request the Declaration of Performance (DoP) from the supplier, which confirms the product meets EN 14157 (abrasion resistance), EN 12372 (flexural strength), and EN 13501-1 (fire classification). Ensure the CE label is clearly affixed to the packaging and that the supplier is audited under Factory Production Control (FPC) standards to maintain consistent quality.

The choice of finish depends on safety and aesthetics. Polished finishes provide a high-gloss, luxury look ideal for hotel lobbies but can be slippery when wet. Honed finishes offer a matte look with better slip resistance. For outdoor or wet areas, flamed, bush-hammered, or sandblasted finishes are essential to achieve a high Slip Resistance Value (SRV/PTV >36) to meet safety regulations and prevent accidents.

Granite is a natural product, so variations are inherent. To minimize this, require the supplier to source blocks from the same quarry layer (same vein). Request a 'Range Sample' showing the maximum light-to-dark deviation rather than a single piece. For large projects, implement a dry-lay inspection at the factory where tiles are laid out and numbered to ensure a harmonious transition before crating.

The biggest risk is breakage during transit due to improper loading. Ensure the supplier uses fumigated solid wood crates with internal padding and steel strapping. For heavy stone products, verify that the container weight does not exceed local road weight limits in the destination country to avoid heavy fines. Always use CIF or CIP terms with comprehensive insurance covering 'All Risks' to protect against maritime accidents.

Granite pricing is highly sensitive to yield rates and waste. Negotiate based on net usable area rather than gross slab size. For new partnerships, utilize Secured Trading Services on Made-in-China.com to hold funds in escrow. A standard payment structure is 30% deposit and 70% against the Bill of Lading (B/L) copy, but for customized dimensions, suppliers may require a higher deposit. Always link the final payment to a third-party pre-shipment inspection (PSI) report.

Different countries have strict biosecurity laws; ensure all wooden pallets have the ISPM 15 heat-treatment stamp to avoid customs rejection. In the US and EU, be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) that may apply to specific stone products; always check the HS Code (typically 6802) against current trade policies. For efficient clearing, ensure the Commercial Invoice, Packing List, and Certificate of Origin are perfectly aligned.

Check if the supplier has a Verified Manufacturer status on Made-in-China.com, which indicates an on-site audit has been performed. Request their Business License and check the registered capital and scope of business. Ask for past project references or photos of their quarry cooperation agreements. A legitimate exporter should be able to provide ISO 9001 certification and recent SGS or Intertek test reports for their specific granite varieties.
