Bulletproof tyre manufacturers

When sourcing bulletproof tyres, you must verify the FINABEL standards (specifically the 20.A.5 standard) which dictate the ability to drive 50km to 100km at a speed of 50km/h after a complete loss of pressure. Ensure the tyres or internal Run-Flat Inserts are compatible with VPAM BRV 2009 or STANAG 4569 ballistic protection levels for armored vehicles. High-quality inserts are typically made of ballistic-grade rubber or reinforced composite polymers to absorb kinetic energy from projectiles.

Compatibility is critical for safety. You must confirm the rim diameter (e.g., 17", 18", 19.5") and the load index of the tyre, as armored vehicles are significantly heavier than standard vehicles. Ask the supplier for a fitment certificate ensuring the run-flat system matches the specific bead-lock rim design. For heavy-duty applications, prioritize three-piece breakdown rims which allow for easier field replacement of bulletproof components.

The tyre compound should feature reinforced sidewalls with high-tensile steel cords. For the internal run-flat inserts, look for heat-resistant materials that can withstand the friction generated during 'deflated' driving. Ensure the rubber has anti-aging and UV-resistant properties, especially if the vehicles will operate in high-temperature desert environments or high-altitude regions.

Professional B2B buyers should demand ISO 9001:2015 for manufacturing quality and IATF 16949 for automotive-grade reliability. Specifically for bulletproof tyres, request third-party ballistic test reports (e.g., from laboratories like Mellrichstadt or TUV) and dynamic run-flat performance logs that prove the tyre's endurance under zero-pressure conditions.

Yes, bulletproof tyres and run-flat systems are often classified as dual-use goods or military-grade equipment. You must check if the product falls under the Wassenaar Arrangement or specific national export licenses. Ensure your supplier on Made-in-China.com can provide the necessary Export License for Military/Security Products to avoid customs seizure at the port of origin or destination.

Bulletproof tyres are exceptionally heavy, which significantly impacts freight costs. Use FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain control over shipping lines, or CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) only if the supplier provides comprehensive insurance. Due to the weight, ensure the packaging uses reinforced wooden pallets (IPPC certified) and steel strapping to prevent shifting during maritime transit.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate based on volume tiers and ask for spare parts kits (such as specialized valves and lubricant for inserts) to be included in the bulk price. Request a long-term warranty (minimum 2-5 years) on the structural integrity of the run-flat inserts, as these are high-value, low-replacement-frequency items.

Utilize the Audit Reports available on Made-in-China.com to verify the factory's production capacity and R&D strength. Conduct a video audit of their testing facility to see their 'zero-pressure' testing rig in action. Avoid suppliers who cannot provide traceability codes for the raw materials used in the ballistic inserts.
