Bubble gum paper manufacturers

The primary requirement is food-grade certification. You must ensure the paper is wax-coated or aluminum-foil laminated to provide a superior moisture barrier, preventing the gum from drying out or sticking to the wrapper. Look for greaseproof properties and a weight typically ranging between 22gsm to 40gsm to ensure the paper is flexible enough for high-speed wrapping machines but durable enough not to tear.

Since this product comes into direct contact with food, it must comply with FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) regulations or EU Framework Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004. Ensure the supplier provides SGS or Intertek test reports verifying that the inks used are non-toxic, low-migration, and heavy-metal free, specifically formulated for food packaging.

Most bubble gum wrappers use Flexographic or Gravure printing. For B2B buyers, it is critical to confirm the printing plate costs and the color accuracy (Pantone matching). High-speed automated packaging lines require precise eye-mark detection on the paper; therefore, you should request a technical drawing to ensure the pitch and registration marks align with your specific wrapping machinery.

Prioritize easy-tear properties and dead-fold characteristics (the ability of the paper to stay folded without springing back). If the product is for long-term shelf life, consider heat-sealable coatings that provide an airtight seal. For eco-conscious markets, inquire about biodegradable or FSC-certified (Forest Stewardship Council) paper options to enhance brand value.

Always request a pre-production sample (PPS) and a lab analysis report for chemical migration. Utilize Made-in-China.com’s 'Audit Reports' to verify if the manufacturer has a clean-room production environment (ISO 14644-1) which is essential for food-grade packaging to avoid microbial contamination.

Negotiate based on Total Volume vs. Draw-down. Instead of one-off orders, offer a yearly contract to lock in lower prices, as paper commodity prices fluctuate. Ask for free plate making for orders exceeding a certain volume (e.g., 500kg+) and ensure the lead time accounts for the 7-10 days required for custom cylinder/plate engraving.

Bubble gum paper is sensitive to humidity and temperature. Ensure the shipping terms specify palletization with shrink-wrap and desiccant bags inside the containers to prevent the wax coating from melting or the paper from curling. Store the rolls in a cool, dry warehouse (below 25°C) to maintain the adhesive and coating integrity.

Use Secured Payment services on professional platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released after the Bill of Lading (B/L) is verified. Check your local customs tariff codes (HS Code 4811) to determine if there are any anti-dumping duties on paper products originating from the supplier's region.
