Bilirubin meter manufacturers

When sourcing a bilirubin meter, prioritize Transcutaneous Bilirubinometers (TcB) for non-invasive screening. Key specs include a measurement range of 0.0mg/dL to 30.0mg/dL, an accuracy variance of ≤±1.5mg/dL, and a repeatability coefficient of <3%. Ensure the device features a large LCD display for clear readings and data storage capacity for at least 20-50 historical records to track patient progress.

As a Class II medical device, it must hold ISO 13485 certification for medical device quality management. For global market access, verify the supplier provides CE Marking (MDR 2017/745) for Europe or FDA 510(k) clearance for the U.S. Additionally, ensure the product complies with IEC 60601-1 (medical electrical equipment safety) and IEC 60601-1-2 (electromagnetic compatibility).

Buyers should choose between optical fiber technology and xenon flash lamp systems. While xenon-based units may have a higher upfront cost, they often offer longer lifespans and lower maintenance requirements. Consider the cost per test; non-invasive meters eliminate the need for expensive disposables like lancets and lab reagents, providing a higher Return on Investment (ROI) in high-volume neonatal wards.

Reliable suppliers must provide a calibration check tablet or integrated calibration function. The device should undergo daily self-calibration and a formal professional calibration every 6 to 12 months. Check if the supplier offers modular sensor replacements to extend the product life without replacing the entire unit.

The biggest risk is Customs Seizure due to incomplete documentation. Always ensure the Declaration of Conformity, Technical Files, and Commercial Invoices clearly state the medical grade and intended use. Another risk is shipping damage to sensitive optical sensors; insist on double-layered shockproof packaging and use reputable couriers with medical logistics experience.

Request a Live Factory Audit or video inspection via the Made-in-China.com platform to verify production lines. Negotiate a staged payment plan (e.g., 30% deposit, 70% after third-party inspection but before shipping). Demand a minimum 2-year warranty and ask for a 1% spare parts allowance for common wear-and-tear items like battery covers or charging cables.

Utilize Secured Trading Services offered by Made-in-China.com to protect your funds until delivery is confirmed. Always verify the supplier's Business License and Medical Device Production License through the platform's audited supplier reports to avoid trading with unauthorized intermediaries.

Bilirubin meters contain Lithium Batteries, which are classified as Dangerous Goods (UN3481). Ensure the supplier provides a valid UN38.3 Test Report and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for air freight. For shipping to distant regions, choose Air Freight over Sea Freight to minimize exposure to humidity and extreme temperature fluctuations that can degrade optical components.
