Bikes manufacturers

When sourcing bikes, you must prioritize frame material (6061 Aluminum Alloy for balance, Carbon Fiber for performance, or Chromoly Steel for durability). Ensure the drivetrain components are from reputable brands like Shimano or SRAM to guarantee long-term maintenance viability. For electric bikes (e-bikes), verify battery cell quality (e.g., Samsung or LG) and motor wattage (250W-750W) to match target market regulations.

Products must adhere to ISO 4210, which is the international safety standard for bicycles. For the US market, compliance with CPSC 16 CFR Part 1512 is mandatory. For the EU, ensure the bikes meet EN 14764 (city/trekking) or EN 14766 (mountain bikes). E-bikes specifically require EN 15194 certification and UL 2849 for battery system safety in North America.

Implement a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) focusing on the frame alignment test, braking distance verification, and gear shifting smoothness. Request a salt spray test report for metal components to ensure rust resistance, especially for coastal markets. For bulk orders, a 10% random sampling should include a fatigue test on the front fork and frame joints.

Selection depends on the end-user: Mountain Bikes (MTB) require hydraulic disc brakes and suspension travel of 100mm-160mm for rugged terrain. Road Bikes prioritize aerodynamics and lightweight frames under 9kg. City/Commuter Bikes should include integrated racks, fenders, and puncture-resistant tires for urban utility.

The biggest risks include Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD), which can exceed 48.5% in certain regions like the EU for Chinese-made bicycles. Always verify the Country of Origin (COO) and check if your supplier has a Binding Tariff Information (BTI) ruling. Additionally, shipping damage is common; ensure the use of 5-layer corrugated export cartons with internal foam bracing for the front fork and derailleur.

Focus on tiered pricing based on component grades. You can often lower the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) by choosing standard frame colors already in production. Negotiate for 1-2% free spare parts (such as inner tubes, brake pads, and spokes) to be included in the container to handle initial warranty claims without shipping costs.

For B2B orders, Sea Freight (FCL - Full Container Load) is the most economical. A 40HQ container typically fits 250-300 SKD (Semi-Knocked Down) bikes. To maximize space, request 85% SKD packaging, which requires the buyer to only install the front wheel, handlebars, and pedals upon arrival.

Utilize Trade Terms that protect the buyer, such as FOB (Free On Board), and use secure payment methods. On platforms like Made-in-China.com, prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone third-party onsite verification by SGS or TÜV Rheinland. Always use Escrow-based payment services or Letters of Credit (L/C) for high-value first-time orders.
