Archery manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize Draw Weight and Draw Length adjustability to ensure versatility for different user profiles. For compound bows, look for CNC-machined aluminum risers for high precision and Gordon Glass limbs for durability. Ensure the Let-off ratio is clearly defined (typically 70-80%) to assist shooters in aiming. For recurve bows, verify the use of laminated wood or carbon fiber to prevent limb twisting under tension.

Products should ideally comply with ISO 9001 for manufacturing consistency. For the US market, ensure components meet ASTM F1880 standards for archery safety. If the equipment includes electronic sights or laser pointers, they must have CE and FCC certifications. Additionally, ensure that materials used in grips and strings are REACH or RoHS compliant to avoid hazardous chemical issues during customs clearance.

Focus on Straightness Tolerance (e.g., +/- 0.003" or 0.006") and Spine Consistency. High-quality arrows should be made of 100% pure carbon or 7075 aluminum alloy. Request the supplier to provide a weight-sorting report to ensure that all arrows in a batch have a weight variance of less than +/- 2 grains, which is vital for flight consistency and customer satisfaction.

For Target Archery, prioritize high-stability stabilizers and micro-adjustable sights. For Hunting/Bowfishing, equipment must feature weather-resistant coatings and high kinetic energy output. If sourcing for Youth/Beginner programs, focus on low draw weight (10-20 lbs) and integrated safety features like finger savers and arm guards to prevent injury.

The primary risk is Customs Classification. Archery gear can sometimes be misclassified as weapons rather than sporting goods, leading to seizures. Always use the correct HS Code (typically 9506.99). Another risk is shipping damage to delicate bow limbs; ensure the supplier uses double-walled corrugated boxes and internal foam bracing.

Start by requesting a Sample Evaluation to test the 'hand feel' and vibration dampening. Negotiate based on Tiered Pricing—for example, a 10-15% discount for orders exceeding 200 units. Ask for OEM/Logo Customization to be included in the unit price for bulk orders, and insist on a 12-month warranty on the riser and limbs to ensure long-term reliability.

Utilize Secured Payment services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. For large-scale orders, hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify the quantity, tension strength, and finish quality before the final balance is paid.

For small batches or high-end carbon bows, Air Freight is recommended to minimize handling and environmental exposure. For bulk orders of targets and beginner sets, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is more economical. Ensure the supplier provides a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) if the shipment includes glues or specialized cleaning chemicals for bow maintenance.
